Post your 265/75 16s!

265/75/r16 KO2’s on 16x8 fifteen52 turbo mac’s.

 

Total tire noob here. Just found this thread and am doing a little sifting through the pages to see if there's an answer, but I'm on stock 2018 TRD OR rims looking at either Toyo AT3s or Wildpeaks (surprise surprise).
I'm wondering if bumping up from a 265/70R16 to a 265/75 will bite me in the ass later if I have to throw the spare on or if there's any other ramifications that I'm not taking into consideration...

 

Not the sexiest/most aggressive tire, but I'm pretty sure those are what I'm getting next after my Toyo Open Country R/T's wear out. They look great but get louder with wear. I also commute fairly far for work so that's a big part of the consideration.

 

Whenever you change tire sizes you definitely want to change the spare size.

Or... Get a plug kit, air compressor and hope when something does puncture one of the tires it’s not in the sidewall.

I’d get 5 tires though

 

Here is my taco. KO2's 265/75R16, stock wheels, no lift. I like the stance enough not to bother with $$$ and complications of a lift kit and bigger tires.

 

That looks good brother, just picked up my 21 DCLB SR5. Thinkin this is the route I’m going, stock alloys with 265/75R16 and no lift. Very sanitary.....

 

probably doing the same size with my SR5...no lift etc. Will be getting Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S's or Dick Cepek Trail Country EXP's

I am currently in the market for Continental Terraincontact A/T tires (primarily for their outstanding dry cornering & braking grip on tarmac), and am on the fence with regards to going either P265/70r16, or shifting up to P265/75r16 (currently on the factory Goodyear A/T Adventure + Kevlar P265/70r16).

I generally prefer a form-follows-function approach to my vehicles, and the only reason I would truly be choosing the 75 aspect ratio (a/r), aside from its increased performance potential off-road (although the truck spends 95%+ of its time on the tarmac), is for improved aesthetic regarding proportionality (31.3" tire on a 16" rim) which lends itself to that 'meaty look' many of us seem to enjoy. On tarmac, in theory, a 70 a/r tire will out perform a 75 a/r tire (identical tire model, section width & load rating) due primarily to its reduced rotating mass, stiffer sidewall (P-to-P, or LT-to-LT), and increased tread width (most tires of an identical model with identical section widths will have about a +1.2-4.7% increase in tread width with a -5% a/r). Added benefits to the 70 a/r is that speedometer reading remains exact, and I do not have to worry about the spare tire disparity.

So essentially, I have come to the 265/75r16 council to understand from those who have gone from P265/70r16 -to P265/75r16, whether or not you experienced any noticeable shift in grip under cornering or braking, as well as with general ride performance. Most likely the majority of you have changed tire brand (and possibly load rating) when making the shift, however, I am curious to understand the general consensus. Clearly, if anyone has made the shift to an identical brand, model and load rating (with just the a/r increasing), your input would be invaluable.

Went with Goodyear Wrangler Ultraterrain's. Love them so far.

 

That looks great! Same set up I want to run just concerned about the stiffer ride and how much the extra rotational weight will affect power? Can you comment on the ride quality/power performance? Also what psi are you running?

 

Finally! Over 2 months after I received the ‘20-21 TRD Pro wheels, the backordered center caps came in.

Had them installed this morning, wrapped with 265/75r16 Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S, along with a 1/4 inch strut spacers, which lifted the front about a 1/2 inch. With the taller tires, the truck sits about an inch taller up front and 1/2 in the rear.
Also with the offset of the wheels and wider tires, the outer edge of tire sticks out about an inch more.

I think it looks great!

What lift kit is that?

 

It is the factory suspension that comes on the TRD Pro but I have the ICON Progressive AAL with the overload spring left in

 

To anyone who is running on the BFG KO2s, how much stiffer is your ride and do you feel alot of sluggishness from it? i would have loved a C load KO2 but on 265/75/16 only one available is the E. Is there really that much of a difference in stiffness from the oem goodyear tires?

 

KO2. Front end has Bilstein 5100 on the 5th notch and rear has an Icon 3 leaf with 5100.

 

From what I Have read through out TW, its like 50/50. Some say they are fine,others just lower the pressure to try and compensate for the additional ply's and load rating.
