Thank you! - I am glad to hear that you have a manual. - I have seen your posts in the OVTune discussions which understandably are largely focused on the Automatics.

I like that there is only two choices for the manual... Could you elaborate on what the "Base" tune does vs. the Stock tune, and the same for the SFOB tune?

I do not seek supercharged racer-boy performance; just a bit more usability in the torque curve... - having heard OV Tuned user comments about the improved low end torque (often stating no impact on MPG), this is of course attractive...

    You're welcome.

I am somewhat familiar with the ATs and the tune features for them, but I have yet to drive an AT Taco outside of a 1st Gen decades ago. We do have a couple MT specific threads. They're pretty deep though:

2.0 Base is really what the Taco should have from Toyota. It is a great tune. SFOB eliminates most of the faux-atkinson cycle. Stands for Super Full Otto B, harkening back to the 1.05B tune. It turns up the throttle response quite a bit.

The low end torque is what I enjoy. Just good power at the bottom where it should be plus all the get up that I need up top.

Resurrecting this in case there are any news I may have missed on the 21 tune for MT...

At the same time, I hear that a tune is a tune regardless of model year...

I am not in a rush, but if there is improvements to be had on the torque curve, then that is certainly appealing...

You need tune files that match your ECU ID, which should be 04C30 unless the factory is kicking out a new version.

The low end torque definitely helps kill the clutch slip when getting going. One of my favorite parts.

Just in case, this is the Tune Pack:

    Thanks for the quick reply!

So - I need to figure out what ID I have - and proceed with the above tune IF I can confirm that I have 04D30...

How do I identify the tune? (I'll have to see about having someone help me out with the actual 'doing' as I do not have the time to do the detailed homework on this!).

Is this VF Tune 2.0? I hear about the KDMax tune now...

    You're welcome!

The Carista or OBD Fusion apps will tell you. 99% certain that you are 04C30, but late production Tacos have come with a second ECU ID almost every year.

Reach out to folks in your area if you don't want to learn (it is honestly pretty easy). See the Feelers thread for a listing.

@mZiggy is an MT guy making Coyoza tunes if you don't want to go with an unedited tune. Also note that some new MT stuff is on the horizon from @OVTune .
