Hello all I'm wanting to mount this tool box in the bed of my 2021 short bed: https://www.uwsta.com/part/ATV-BLK

    Requirements:
    - mounted at the front of the bed, closest to the cab
    - sits at or just above bed floor level
    - attached at the bed floor or at the front wall of the bed
    - easy removal & replacement, without tools, so I can use the space for something else when needed

What would you all recommend for the cleanest solution to mount this?

Ammo box bolted to the rail; Lockable, waterproof, total cost $20.
You could easily extend it to reach the floor, mine is off so I clean the entire bed out and pull the mat from under it.

Too bad you insist on the location. I put a couple of swing cases in. They sit behind the wheel well.

I have the right side one in my 2019. Wish I had opted for the left side instead but I do like the removability of them. I got it with a discount deal with the Undercover tri fold bed cover.

    1. Build a easy peasy treated wood platform to sit under it to take it to whatever height you desire.
    2. Attach simple retainer bracket to front track (wing nut, knob, etc) that will keep box from sliding.

So, two steps. This is not even a three beer job. This is like a one beer job.
I just completed a 72 beer job solo. No more 72 beer jobs.

This is mine. Fair warning, if you mount it across the front of your bed you'll need to attach it to the bulkhead somehow as the fuel tank and Charcoal Canister live under the bed from basically the center of the bed to the Driver's-side edge. My tool box is attached with two bolts and the hole I drilled for the first one (near the front of the bed) missed the Charcoal canister by less than an inch.

Other than what @hiPSI recommends, which would work, I'm not sure how you'll be able to attach it securely without drilling into the bed.

BTW You may want to think more about mounting it to the side of your bed for ease of accessibility. Mine is mounted the way it is so that I can access it by leaning-over the side as opposed to having to climb all the way into the bed. Just something to think about.

I also wouldn't be too concerned about being able to remove it, as toolboxes tend to find ways to make themselves useful. I installed mine last December prior to an out of state four-wheeling trip with the thought that I would remove it when I got home and only use it when needed. It hasn't come-out since as I keep finding more and more things to pack into it which I don't want in the cab of my truck. If I did decide to remove it to haul something it would take me less than ten minutes to do so.
