I decided to ditch my portable Viair compressor and mount an ARB CMK12 single compressor under the hood. More story below, but here is the completed project:

Currently had my Viar 88p stored behind the back seats of my DCSB. Just trying to free up space in the cab and to make airing up go quicker.

Don't know if this will help anyone out, but I have a 2016 TRD Off road DCSB. The space in my engine compartment seems to look different than a lot of others that I saw here on TW with ARB compressor installs.

My passenger side has ABS stuff in the way that looks like would interfere with a Slee bracket:

My drivers side has the brake booster that interferes with a Rago Fab bracket (I guess they stopped making a compatible version):

Inspired by the following thread, I created my own mount using slotted angle on the driver's side. I don't plan on using a Switch Pro/SPOD or anything, so this works for me. Thread:

Photos of my mockup and install:

I am a novice at anything automotive. Thanks to this site I was able to find the resources I needed to figure out the compressor wiring, getting thru the firewall, and switch wiring. Here are links to the threads I found most helpful for my particular install:

Compressor wiring (after feeling intimidated by the huge harness that ARB gives you):

Switch wiring (CH4X4)... Nothing matches

Compressor works great! I have just enough hose to get around to the rear passenger tire from this location. Can't wait to get it dirty :kona:

Great thread, I’m debating a single vs. double ARB.

Thanks! My buddy at work has the single on his Jeep running 35's and the air locker which is way more than what I'm using it for. Besides the price difference between the two, I'm good with the 50% duty cycle of the single, plus it puts out more cfm than my Viair 88p.

According to the interwebs the ARB puts out 2.34 cfm at 29psi, versus Viair's 1.25 cfm at 30psi. It would be great if someone could share their real world experience.

Do you have the 6speed manual? I think the automatics have electronic abs that makes crawl control and what not work and that is all built into the master cylinder. See my automatic for reference.

Either way, nice fab work. I like that location actually better then over by the airbox. Less wire to run to the battery and the cab.

Ahh, mine is a prerunner (and automatic) so I don't have the crawl control stuff, just a locker. The thread from @Arlaghan (Post #1) looks like your photo. Looks like his compressor is mounted about 3/4"-1" more forward (closer to the battery) than mine. :( So many different configurations under the hood. So confusing :(
