Yea, I don’t see how the leaf could get that high but I went ahead and put 3 stainless washers under the head of the bolt so only 1/2 threads stick out now. It should not be an issue. That could have happened when the tank was dropped but I don’t know for sure. I saw some pics where the bolt was able to do that.

Maybe the both had done it… looking at this pic, it could be a glare or a mark…

That just might work. I probably would have tried flipping the bolt around first myself before throwing more hardware in. We'll see how it holds up this weekend!

I had tried that first, without dropping the front of the leaf I can’t get enough room for the bolt to go through… or I didn’t find the magic angle for it to go through.
    It’ll probably be alright lol.

Nice! I think I already mentioned this to you, but almost everyone up there on the mountain I'm on is from Pasadena.

Wife & I love Berkeley Springs. They have free concerts in the community park once or twice a month during the summer which is always fun. Good places to eat, good brewerys and nice people. Compared to Baltimore, Berkeley Springs is like Mayberry to us lol. I'm 35mins west of BS up in the sticks.

Welcome to the thread! I'm from about the most northeastern corner of the state you can get.

Did you hear about the AOAA trip this weekend?

It’s fine to use the shortest run of cable possible. GMRS aren’t in the same realm of goofy CB physics. I’m assuming your putting a new pl259 connector on your coax. Figure out what type of cable you have, probably some variant of rg58 or something much thinner if it came with the radio. Get a corresponding sized pl259, either in a solder-on type, crimp on type or twist on. I like the crimp on ones but you’d have to buy a cheap crimper off Amazon. Even the crimp one still usually require soldering of the center wire. YouTube has some good vids on pl259 install. If you have a few connectors you can use the first as a test run.

Yeah that ain't gonna happen lol I want to go on a trip though. Last time I tried my gf broke up w/ me (long story) & had to figure new place to live & all that shit so... yeah. But ad of now I'm back in MD & am currently working weekends (more money) as a FedEx delivery driver. Love it. But I'd be more interested on a meet atm then anything.

Eventually I want to take my truck across the trans-america trail to the grand canyon! That's the overall goal!

Alright gents, not being offered for the main sale page, I happen to have this brand new Dometic CFX 3 100 (big) fridge for sale. Figured I offer it up here before returning it to Amazon. Fridge and cover were about $1500 total. Just pay what I paid for it 2 weeks ago. Selling because I (for the first time in my life) overestimated it’s size and underestimated the hole it’s supposed to go into. PM if you’re interested, going to give it a week and then it’s back to Amazon. Not pressed to sell, but could be more convenient for a local guy to just swing by Crownsville and grab it. I can also bring it with me to AOAA on Saturday for delivery.

Rough patch, sorry to hear about it brother. This Trans America Trail sounds like a blast. Definitely putting that on my to-do list!

Some might ask, “But Beorn, I have a wife and kids, is this dometic big enough for them?” Why, yes…it is! You could fit several children into this, as for the wife- it just depends on how often she hits the drive through while hauling kids to soccer camps!
