Combined a later 1st Gen leaf pack with the existing to get the rear lifted:

Leveled it out nicely with 5100's:

Purpose: daily driver and dog hauler, weekend camper and explorer

Background: My work neighbors flip cars and when this thing came in I committed to buying it within an hour. It had a very clean engine bay, rust free frame, only 190k, manual locking hubs and a camper with a built out bed platform. It looked like it had recently been tuned up and was well taken care of. According to the title I might be only the second owner. The bed platform is covered with a padded shag carpet and looks professionally done. After a detail the interior and bed platform were dare I say like new.

The biggest shortcomings are the suspension (stock) and gearing (3:58). The leaf springs were almost parallel with the ground and the front hits hard on the tinniest of bumps. The under gearing wasn't too noticeable with 225/75R15's but now that I've put on 265/75R16's it's very noticeable. Though, still the 3RZ-FE feels more "powerful" than either of the two 3.0's I've owned. Also, both bumpers are dented and bent. DIY front and rear bumpers done hopefully by next spring.

    Done:
    - Dash magnetic phone mount
    - 2nd Gen 16" rims with Duelers. Anybody have Tread Wrights and/or opinions about them?
    - DIY leaf pack: original combined with a pack from a 2000. Lots of help from this thread.
    - Updated leaf pack build with these shackles and new u-bolts.
    - Lower plastic bumper delete and turn signal relocate.
    - 5100's installed with OME 2881's

    To-Do:
    - Switch panel mounted to the dash above the glove compartment.
    - Weld up front and rear bumpers. Everybody is a welder these days, right?
    - An air compressor and a winch are in the not too distant future.
    - Regear to 4:56, I really want to do this myself but I'm scared. Might call in a favor.

Thanks, guys! Long time creeper, a first-time poster. I knew I finally had to join when I started ending all my Google searches with "Tacoma World."
