Replacing Carrier Bearing and U-Joints on my 1st Gen Tacoma

    Hey all, I have been lurking for a while and am in need of some assistance.

    I am wanting to replace my carrier bearing and u-joints and need some help with resources on finding the correct parts to use. I'm new to this and want to take care of my taco, but I need some help.

    I went here: https://partsouq.com/en/catalog/genuine and searched by VIN
    and found the part number for the center support bearing: 3723035130
    and for the spider kit: 0437135051

    So per RockAuto it looks like I need the TIMKEN HB31 for center support bearing, and DANA 51510X for the U-Joints.

    Is that site I linked earlier to be trusted?

    Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
    I have a good drive line Guy He can change the U- joints cheaper then me. He rebuilds my double Cardan joints as well.

    I go with his choice of U- joints

    I don`t change enough to get around to building the correct jigs

    I've never heard of the site you linked. The HB31 is listed as for the 4WD, the HB26 is for RWD, according to RockAuto anyway. The other manufacturers mostly have different parts for 4WD and RWD, so I am assuming they are slightly different. Your profile says you have a 2WD.

    I don't understand why you're not looking at parts.toyota.com with your own vin number to verify part numbers for your own rig. It's easy to do and ensures that you're getting the right parts vs, hoping rock auto has their parts correct.

    I always buy the OEM bearings. I blew up a timken one in less than 1000miles and same with the cheapo spicer. The last OEM one I bought wasn't a spicer. I have another one coming this week as I crushed it on a rock and will verify it.

    The timken "rubber" is more of a hard plastic that basically ripped at a seam while on a road trip. Sucked I could only do 55mph for 11hrs.
