To many choices! How about I add one?
@daveeasa I think I seen the light I’m thinking about in one of your treads. It small round light with a trim ring. Looked very clean not just a strip of LED lights. You or one of your customers had it shining down from the bottom of the doors and the outside mirrors. What about placing one or ? in the foot well & one or ? on the door panel where it shines back or down when the door is opened. (Up to owner where to place)
Both could be tapped into the dome light to function like the dome. :notsure:

The lights in the door come standard from the factory in my 4Runner and I may or may not be working on something like this for the Taco :anonymous:

It's good to know there's interest in using the dome switch to trigger the footwell lights. We'll explore this for V2! Seems like the general consensus is a standalone switch isn't needed/wanted and we'd rather re-use a factory switch.

Pretty quick decision on so few answers.:stirthepot:
Maybe another poll and a longer answer time would more appropriate.:typing:

That might have been me. I decided to do my own thing for footwell and puddle lighting.

We get some feedback from TW and then relay the info to the people that are actually going to purchase the kits for their stores. At the end of the day an idea is only as good as your buyers' willingness to fund it. With that said, it seems like most of the retailers and some of the people here are on the fence about a dedicated switch for a footwell light. I'll admit it's a very strange switch to have, but I was asked for it. However, tying the footwell lights to an existing interior light switch (dome SPDT) won't harm really anyone's willingness to buy and will satisfy those people that want more control over the lights.

    Hey,
Just an FYI our 07 only came with power steering & AC so I will take just about anything as long as it looks factory, close to or better than. My best factory option are my factory seats. Sadly I can’t let anyone ride in the truck because Tacomaholic has the part that he won’t share to make the airbag system operational. I guess he’s scared he will get sued… What A D*** Head‼️

***Edit*** Sorry not trying to belittle or start something just stating my own.02 cents. But I can’t stand someone who’s two faced. Pretending to care about his fellow Tacoma owners then you ask for something from him and he turns a cold shoulder!

    YES RGB please haha

Even so, very interested in this. After a long day of snowboarding, I know passengers usually want to change socks/shoes while I'm driving and usually you can't see anything.

Great idea. Put me down for a 2020 Sport. Thanks!

They drew that conclusion from a survey of 30 statisticians. Guaranteed

    @oostroma,
Stupid question do the little LED’s fade? And do you have any action shots for the light inside the cab at night? Maybe if the OP goes a different direction I can try to figure out how to connect something up. I really like the clean look of the light. My apologies to the OP not trying to derail your tread. Just say so & I will remove.

    Thanks for your time.

I am a fan. Reminds me of my youth.

In my first car (78 Buick), I strung Christmas lights (4 bulbs) under the dash and wired them to the instrument panel lights, so they'd be turned on and off with the headlights...

What is old is new again.
