$1200 is ridiculous. You could buy a welder, bender, and the steel for less than that

Maybe if the welder and bender are from Hazardous Freight, maybe.

price of that bender doubles when you get the dies required to actually use it. They’re always the expensive part with benders.

Not to mention most folks add a hydraulic ram to them. Bending 1.5”x.125 wall manually does not sound like a good time.

But damn that’s still quite the price bump on metaltech’s part, I think they used to be like $750ish. I know they announced prices were going to increase. My buddy rushed and got a bumper from them last month before the price went up.

A simple hydraulic pump press would work too. My point is, $1,200 for sliders is ridiculous. They don't take that much time to figure out how to make, and are perfect for a "learn as you go" project. You could even do it without bends if you did a series of cuts and welds

Fuck MT. Bumpers are trash, sliders are ok but the price is wack. I paid 650$ for mine last year and picked them up

False, I've done dozens of sliders, bumpers, and even one of 3 cages on my rigs with 115. Crossmembers, skids, etc. It's only 1/8th'', and our frames are that thin, if not thinner in spots. It's fine if you know how to weld properly.

4x innovation sliders are $280 for the weld-ons. $850 for the bolt-ons. $1200 is insane for sliders. My rear HC bumper with swingout was like $1600.

I might be an idiot because I bought from MetalTech so I could pick up locally. When I priced out other options plus the ~$200 in shipping it didn't seem like a bad deal.

They look good and are holding up well.

Anyone calling $1,200 crazy, I welcome you to notice: the entire last two years and how costs have for goods like these have skyrocketed.

I've resigned myself to paying something like $1k for sliders and almost $3k for a HC rear bumper with swing out :spending:

I find it odd...people put thousands of dollars into these vehicles, but bitch about the cost of something that will actually protect against major damage. I paid about $1,300 three years ago for my Son's sliders and never gave it a second thought.

people are more shocked at how much prices have gone up. Especially since the exact same thing from metaltech cost about half as much a year or two ago.

$1.3k is a lot to swallow for sliders, that’s bumper prices. Especially considering my bolt on sliders cost me $350 (admittedly that was several years ago).
