Looking to add a DD ssc1 light in the rear bumper for aux reverse lighting beside my license plate. I’ve seen a plug and play harness so you don’t have to cut anything, I’m looking for a harness I can use to wire in a three way switch that I can turn on that light at any time, along with that I’d like to have the tag lights turn off when put into reverse.

Does something im looking for exist?

It'd be custom so I can't pick it up for you. But you could do two separate parts:

    1. DIR (homemade or mine)
    2. Hitchpod harness but then you'd need a custom solution with a rocker for on/off/auto with a long line to the cab and a relay
All in all, way more than I can handle helping you with right now, especially for a fully integrated solution with a single tap of one reverse light.

Good point as well. On the 2nd gen, it's one connector for brake and reverse, a 6 position with 5 populated. On the third gen it's one connector for the brake and one for the reverse bulbs so any T taps are independent. Some pros and cons of each approach.

Yeah there is a lot in that. I dig the background music. Likely an unsealed relay and I’d be surprised if the switch is Toyota specific since the mention was that it is universal.

Clean. But no output in reverse without parking lights on. Likely a non-issue though?

    Switch would do the juice.
It's the "I want everything in one" that kills it. Like the dimming feature some can't live without...

But you drew it with 30 coming from parking light and 86 from the switch :)
I do like the version you posted though, it's clean, it's simple, much like the DIR I did for you w aux output, minimal extra stuff.

OP wanted the tag lights OFF...
And no need for BU illumination if not dark outside...(parking lights ON)

Yes, which is the beauty of your posted solution, combo DIR and aux reverse lighting.
To make it a fully independent circuit for the aux reverse output would require more than one relay as I see it, and make things even more complicated for minimal net gain.

I was figuring a second relay to run the dd light by itself so it doesn’t overload the factory backup lamp circuit.

Unnecessary. OEM wiring has plenty enough headroom for a single C1.

If that’s the case maybe I’ll ditch the switch idea

This is what I did. (Wiring harness diagram) I used a three-way switch that allows me to control the Rigid Ignite lights flush-mounted in my bumper[IMG] with the back-up lights, independently, or keep them off. I also have a MESO Customs Stealth Pro Shift Knob. One switch relocated the ECT button from the dash. The other is a momentary flash of the Rigid Ignite lights. (High beams behind me or tailgaters beware.)

Looks good. How does it work? How'd you wire it?
