I haven't used these exact ones, but the round blind-spot mirrors work great. They're one of the first things I'll put on my OR when it comes in.

Could you give me the dimensions of the Rav4 blind spot mirror section?

Looking in my miscellaneous auto parts bin I found one of those cheap blind spot mirrors. Probably back when I our son got his new car a few years ago. This will work for now but I'm not a fan of the poor non-glass mirror properties. What is nice is that it rotates, but with force and nice position clicks so its not loose. Package says its for RV's. I'm sure I picked it up at Walmart years ago.

Actually for me it was more of a "turn off" than anything else. And some of the product reviews were not very positive.

Yeah I have the Rav mirrors as well. Work well enough for blindspot usage.

I went with the Rav4 mirrors. They work great for what they are intended.

They are really good blind spot mirrors, but that portion is fixed in place so you can't angle it to see your tires or trailer without moving the entire mirror.

I feel huge in the Tacoma and literally couldn't see to change lanes with sort of bending down in my seat before. Now I can confidently switch lanes, so overall I'm happy, just wish they were a little cheaper.

I found these after I had already installed my Rav4 mirrors, but looks like a great option as well. They have them with and without BSM from the Tech Package.

I found this on you tube on adjusting your side view mirrors to maximize you view of the road. The video also shows a convex mirror to replace your existing side view mirrors on the Tacoma to further reduce blind spots.

AZPhys13....Did you use the "adjustable base" or fixed mount?

    :notsure:

I've never had a blind spot in any vehicle I've owned, and only a very few number of large trailers I have driven. I angle mine down and away so that I'm staring between the other cars' door handle to rocker panel. Don't need to look them in the eye, nor do I need to overlap what the rear view sees (or what it would see on the days it's obscured.)

The default is to be able to see the entire width of the lanes directly perpendicular of your rear wheel at a glance. Then you move your head and look out the rear-view and windows to check if anyone is approaching that zone.

When I'm towing or hauling and I want to use the sides to look rearward, that's when I duck down/use body positioning to shift my viewing angle in the mirror. But the default mirror setting at my normal driving position is always pointed down and to the side.

I hear you there. I broke a couple on my OE ones in the cold, installing them the evening before a trip. I should have listened to the instructions and heated them up. That said, I could toss the stock ones in the trash at this point. There's no going back.

You can hit them with a hair dryer for a minute or a heat gun on a low setting.

When I built my camper I replaced my stock mirror with something like the mirror below.

One benefit I didn't expect is the field of view is so wide there are no blind spots. My view from the camera is far better than the view I had with my stock mirror and nothing in the bed of my truck (this is for a 1st gen, 3rd gens are probably differant)

Replacing your rear view camera is probably more complex than a 1st gen too. It has no electronics. Not sure if a 3rd gen does.

We all have wide angle back up cameras that are easily modded to anytime. They do give a lot of coverage.

That said, I installed one of those on our daughter's Mazda that didn't have a back up camera. It is one of those gizmos that are kinda necessary these days with crazy drivers and too tight of parking spots. It has worked very well.
