aFe Scorcher GT

What’s going on everyone?

So just a quick post about the aFe Scorcher GT. It’s a programmer that basically jumps inline between the mass airflow sensor, and computer. Tricking the computer into thinking the air is basically colder than it truly is, allowing the ECU to alter fuel and ignition curves. aFe dyno proved this device to add 12 horsepower and 15 pound feet of torque.

They are on winter sale currently for $312, so debating pulling the plug on one.

Not looking for the people who are just going to preach about “snake oil” and bash a mod. Looking for people who have used or are using one… looking for insight into your experience.

Yea… I seen that page a few days ago. Sadly, not a lot of info in there.

 

Do you have a tune? I'd just get the thing tuned for the same amount of money.

For just a little bit more, you could have the whole truck tuned.
If you are interested, we could recommend a few tuners if you like.

No it’s currently not tuned. I was debating a KDMax tune.

Are there any proven dyno runs with these tunes? KDMax or the OVTune? I hear a lot of people claiming power…

Yes, there are proven Dyno results.
But I suggest you not put too much emphasis on Dyno numbers.
HP and TQ are only “part” of the whole system.
Delivering it efficiently to the rear wheels is just as important.

Most of the popular tunes claim around or more then what you are looking at in terms of HP. You'll also get better shift points, throttle response and low end usable power along with the attentional horse power. I noticed these way more then the extra HP when I tuned my truck.
