What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Here's the part numbers from one of my Summit orders.

You'd still need a 10mm bleeder (to plug return line) and 10mm inverted flare unions.

There won't be an "adapter." You would make a line with a bubble flare on one end and with an inverted flare on the other end.

 

I don't remember if your truck has ABS, but if it doesn't it's a lot easier without than with. At least on my truck I needed the non-ABS brake lines for the front, and to build a few new ones as well for both the front and rear. I was able to just run the line I kept into the soft line that runs down to the axle.

I'll be honest, I wouldn't put the wilwood valve under the truck. If the threads get any rust on them, it's basically good luck adjusting it. I've read of a few people who've just had them seize up and need replacement because of the rust. I put mine under the hood to hopefully prevent that as much as possible.

If doing it again I’d have kept the 7 inches or so of the wire length on the pigtail included with the mirror and made my connections back further in the headliner.

Both 4Runners and Tacomas had 3 interior colors, the blue grey (moon mist) matches 95.5-00 Tacomas, the lighter grey matches 01-04 Tacomas, and oak matches all Tacoma years.

Don’t know what year 4Runners had what colors, they stopped production of 3rd gens in 02, I found mine on eBay and mistakenly first bought the lighter gray that matches later models.

Only thing unique I did on the sunglass console was use a weld nut tacked to a 2” diameter piece of 14 gauge and epoxied that to the roof for larger surface area, others who epoxied something with a smaller footprint said it caused a distortion in the roof as they tightened things up. There’s a mounting bracket that comes in a 4Runner that’s not easy to track down.

 

yea I"m deciced on putting it under the hood at this point. Have some parts coming that I think I'll be able to do it all with.

Added steering wheel controls for the radio with a Sienna steering wheel. Gray is slightly different but close enough! Love it!

yes. they were cheap lines i put in 10 years ago when i did manual proportioning valve. already replaced them.

 

stuffed some 8” L7s in my extra cab. Believe it or not I actually managed to track down all the rattles. Now just gotta get the “ grills “ mounted

 

I like that. But surely that's not efficient for the woofer with no box..

 

That was my original concern so I ended up sealing the compartment behind the speaker with dynomat and a queen size 2” memory foam mattress. I left an empty pocket just behind the subs to the manufactures sealed box square footage spec. Hits harder, cleaner and louder than my old single 12 I used to have in a sealed box.

 

Here’s a few more pictures from the project. I ended up stripping the entire interior to Matt and foam everything

You can see that foam trying to bust out from every hole/opening .I took that picture during a little test fit, so ended up sealing the sub bracket to the body of the truck with more killahmat

Add JBA to the list of companies that have gone to shit. I wanted to get the cab on today. But no. The crossover pipe runs into the other header and the y pipe points towards the transmission. Fucking trash

 

555 LBJs installed to replace the not very old OEMs with play. We'll see how they hold up.



Also picked up a weather guard toolbox off marketplace.

 

Since my 1998 has gone stand still mode. I went and checked on the 02 and 95. Still running. Birds nest in the 02. But hey, felt cute took a pic
