    I'd imagine it probably set a temporary code in the PCM. Freeze data would show rpm and gear position. That's why Toyota says he tried to put it in first.
    Any stick shift owners know what the rpm's are in third @ 56 mph?

    It's been a couple of decades for me, but IIRC on my Blazer you could TRY, but the synchros yelling at you would generally make you back off.
