After 8 months sitting in my to-do bin, I finally got around to attempting to put this in. Well past my warranty period.

Putting the board in was pretty easy, where the wires in instructions are soldered, there was a plastic twist-in plug. Since I don’t have solder equip nor very proficient at it I was going to do the other option. So I wanted to keep that little plug to protect the wires from getting chaffed on the metal edges, so I drilled a hole through the middle and have my wires through the plug and the switch parts all back together.

I was a little lost on the instructions after that. It looks like the pins on the attached wires plug straight into the wire plug that goes to the switch. After that, it’s hazy. How then if the wires are into the plug are we connecting to the A/C system for power? Without reading and reviewing 171 pages, Is there another write-up or video that anyone has done to explain that part?
I’m newb to anything electrical, so any help would be appreciated.

Nope, I tried to give mine to a friend with a 13’ and it’s not compatible.

If anyone is in need I have one I cannot use.

As mentioned, no, this will not work on a 2013. The switch on the 12-15 did not allow light to go through so no illumination. But there are other options out there for the 2012-2015. There is a thread that is on TW. I will see if I can locate it.

I appreciate that. Not a priority. I just saw someone else selling an illumination kit they never installed and i’m glad i did my diligence to check before hand.

however, my next question is, if its just the switch not allowing the light to come through, what if i swap the 4x4 switch from my 2008 into the 2013?

The short answer is that they are not compatible. The work around is to buy a switch from a Forerunner or HiLux and then you have to buy a wire with a pin on it and insert that wire in the correct spot on your existing connector and then connect the other end to a source under the dash for lighting. One 4 X 4 switch fits and the other requires a small metal sleeve as the switch is slightly smaller than the opening. A TW member sells the metal ring. So everything is "available", but it will require a little bit of installation.
