So I am still pretty new to the forum and have been steadily modding my truck little by little. I really dig the knowledge and learning new shit all the time on here but I wanted to ask you guys how hard it is too install these items, would it be better to just pay a shop for the labor? I am asking FL peeps since there appears to be plenty of knowledge here and was hoping for a referral for a local shop if that is the route I take as well. Never lifted a truck so all the info on here is pretty overwhelming...

I am using Yotamatt's build as a guide as that is the height I am looking for and plan on putting 33's on it as well.

    Bilstein 5100s on front 1,75"
    Eibach springs 1.6"
    4" Maxtrac Spindles
Old Man emu CS047R leaf spring set
Maybe a 2" block (not sure how much it affects the leafs when towing smaller trailers)
Pro Comp Shocks in rear for 4"-6" lift
Extended Stainless Brake Lines Front and Rear
Custom ABS sensor wire drop bracket (no clue what this is??)

Also should I get a diff drop as well? And how necessary would it be to upgrade the UCA's?

Any help with this would be much appreciated...

    You can't do spindles with a 4x4 I'm 99.999999% sure.
Not a fan of the block idea either. Should go full leaf pack lift.
Maybe bilsteins all the way around instead of pro comp for rears.

hey I know how ya feel man, im still fairly new to TW forums and trucks, but its always nice to learn how to do things yourself (not trying to be rude). I had no clue what I was doing, but the hobby shop here on Eglin AFB was awesome and guided me step by step through installing my Rough Country 3" lift on my truck. From what I have read, now this is what I have read, total chaos UCAs are designed to correct the alignment issue with your wheels when installing lifts, so it would be a good idea to get new UCAs

its really all what you want to do, you can pay the labor fee, or go dive into an amazing automotive offroading industry and install the parts yourself, all what you want to do

No 4x4 here, Prerunner ... so how could I lift the rear high enough to level with that much height in the front without being a "Bro" truck? I haven't heard of a leaf pack with that kind of height? Would a flip kit help? I like the bisteins all around just because I have read some bad reviews on procomps...

contact a company called Alcan. i don't know if it's a production leaf pack or built to order, but i have worked on and wheeled with a number of trucks that have leaf packs that get you 6'' of lift without the use of a block. you could also have it built shorter if you don't want t full 6''

Yeah I am all about DIY, that is my preferred method for sure. I had a hobby shop at my old base when I was in Texas, but now that I am out wasn't sure there was anything like that around here... Are there hobby shops off base? Going to look into that.

Your best bet is talk to Jason (toyota tech 31) or jon 4x4. Both live right by you. They know about lifts so you are in luck there...:) Toyota Tech31 [IMG]

If you are going to run the eibach's I wouldn't recommend setting the 5100's at 1.75 as the ride will be stiff from the preload and they don't recommend going past .85 with those. Yes it can be done but I wouldn't do it.

Since you are only wanting to run 33's might want to look at this build thread. His set up will give you a smoother ride.

ok so I was wondering, whenever here in the near near future when I get rid of this prerunner for a 4x4 TRD offroad, should I stick with a 3" lift? or go with a 4, or even a 6...hmmm, Ill be moving the wheels/tires and wheel spacers over to the new truck, not even going to bother w/ the lift on this thing just going to leave it on...just wondering what lift I should get for the new truck, I like my 3" but I wouldnt mind going a bit bigger

Do you wheel or are a bro? Only way to get more than 3-3.5" of lift is one of the DB lifts. If that's your thing than cool I guess but more lift won't yield bigger tires. 35" is the practical limit whether you're at 3", 4", or 6".
