Thanks!! I went ahead and did the mod except I used an inline crimp and attached it to the parking lights so when the parking lights come one, the fogs come on as well. I used a piece of wire loom to make it look nice. I did have to bend the relay and although it is not seating all the way, it is secure. I doubt they would care.

Ok peeps, can someone smarter than me (because I'm totally useless at this stuff) give a detailed step by step of what I need to do in order to be able to:

Turn on and off fog lights by way of switch whenever I want.
Be able to turn on fog lights with high beams.

I don't want the fogs on all the time by default...

    Is this it? http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2n...ghts-high-beams-brights-free.html#post4899501

    THANK YOU!

Granted, it's way more expensive...but I went "TheBriteBox" route and have low beams, high beams and Fogs on when in high beam mode.

    Amazing light coverage at night.

So far no signs of melting and its been in use since May.

One thing of note, when I ordered, the fog light plug was incorrect because the bulb toyota uses in the 2013 changed from the latest kit they offer for the Tacoma. I called Innova and they overnighted me the correct plug which I just had to cut off the wrong one and crimp the correct one. So if you order, call the order in and tell them you need the 2013 fog bulb plug.

But as a side note, I went ahead and installed while waiting on the plug (without the fogs connected) and found out that it recreates this MOD allowing anytime fog use since the BriteBox has a direct battery feed, it powers the Fog circuit but is still key switch activated so they turn off when the key is off. I thought about leaving it that way, but went ahead and installed the fog plug once it arrived since I have LED driving lights in the filler panel below the headlight assembly.

I Used this method and it works great. All contained in one fuse box

The trick is to grind the spade connector a bit to make it fit with the relay spade.

Same here, there is only so much you can do to make a car idiot proof. Sometimes they just go too far. there is nothing wrong with running your fog lights and headlights at the same time here, however, I replaced mine with Rigid Dualies, so never run them when on the highway. When on the back roads, dark at night, or dirt roads, I have them on, helps me see better.

The mod was easy, and have been very happy I did it.

Did this mod today on my 2014... Minor difference for people with heated seats.

The relay-panel has a 3rd blue relay, for the seat heaters, so tapping into the "open" receptacle isn't an option (as per Naholo808 & 2006KJ).

You have to use the original method, as described in the o/p. WITH ONE EXCEPTION* !

I used 1/4" spade connectors that accepted 12g wire, installed them on the ends of the fused-link, and connected them to the appropriate terminals.

*NO NEED TO TRIM THE MALE CONNECTOR, BEND & INSERT IT INTO THE TERMINAL WITH THE EXISTING GREY RELAY !!!

Once it's connected, test the function of the fogs & then put the cover back on the panel. Viola !

(minor "folding" of the fuse-holder & wires required, but it'll tuck under the cover)

what the fused-link should look like (I cut off the yellow plastic shields before installing)

what it should look like installed (NOTE the 3rd blue relay, for factory heated seats)

End result... How it should come from the factory.
