Question about noise on a new 2013

Can't say for sure; according to Toyota's service bulletin, it is only a problem with SR5 V-6 automatic trucks without posi-traction. I believe this is a harmonic vibration that you hear in the form of an audible whine/howl. It isn't horrible, and plenty of owners would probably figure that's just the way the truck is, and not worry about it.

 

I also have a 2013 and its doing the same what Griffin407 described. I think its coming from the windshield or possiblely the grill like you said.

Had the same issue and this helped.

 

As of mid October, 2013 there was a TSB on the whistling noise, my dealer replaced the grille or the seal around the grille and that fixed it.

 

I had the whistle as I drove my new truck home. There are threads explaining where to install flex tubing across the front grille gasket to stop the whistle. Do a search for whistle noise in the search menu. The repair cost less than a dollar.
