    I got 15.646 from full to empty running 75-80 mph on the interstate today.
    My v8 4x4 tundra gets about the same.

    So far I've added an Advance folding bed cover and since removed it. Gave it to my son in Maine, he has an 05 2wd. GT perfect fit seat covers. Weathertech floor mats and window vent visors. Waag center brush/grill guard. Hose clamp tailgate mod. Turned off the seat belt chime. Added Ultra-Gauge. Trailer hitch. Softopper. Replaced sun visors with slide out style. Toyota bed extender. Had Firestone Destinations and now Michelin LTX AT2 in stock size. More mods to come; Fog lights, locking storage in bed, intermittent wipers. Now looking for Radio/HU upgrade. and maybe a lift way down the road.
    I normally get around 22 mpg. A few weeks ago I got 28 on a tank. I did the math a few times but I still can't believe it.

    Nice numbers Rich. I suspect your 28 came with warmer weather and better gas. The higher ethanol blends are curbing my enthusiasm.

    WW - Your tough fall/winter numbers reflect my summer bests. A real accomplishment when you think about it. Granted I have the AT but my numbers are around 22.3 these days. I never really recovered the losses from last winter (very cold in CT last year).

    Folks with the lifts and big tires - your numbers are relative to your vehicle configurations. You may want to benchmark with a forum member here with a similar configuration. And if you aren't applying corrections relative to tire size you may be guessing wrong on your speeds, mileage, and MPGs.

    Strangely my fuel mileage has decreased with the use of non-ethanol 89. It could be coincidental as the weather is getting colder. I plan to run some ethanol laced fuel and track it to see if anything changes on my next tank.

    Built for maximum low end torque, tooter II.VII intake manifold spacer, LCE long tube header, Injen long tube intake, 2,900 rpm torque peak.
    I get almost exactly the same mileage as yours. :)
    My 2012 work truck is also a single cab and always loaded down with tools and materials and hardly ever sees a freeway.

    It must be the temperature. There is good reason non-ethanol will always give better mpg, everything else being equal.

    I have a '97 extended cab with a canopy. I do a lot of driving on back roads. Up and down hills, stop and go, in town driving a little. When I first got the truck three years ago, I was driving very carefully, trying to get the best mileage I could.

    I would average between 19 and 23 MPG a tank. At that time I was sometimes driving a lot of logging roads in low range 4WD which probably accounts for the 19.

    On the road, when I started driving with a little more foot in it, I started averaging 21 MPG pretty consistently. I was probably loosing mileage because I was lugging it to much on the hills for awhile.

    The best MPG I've gotten was 26.4 MPG on the freeway. Usually it's 25 with a few hills and some winds.

    I was surprised that I didn't see any drop in MPG when I put the canopy on.

    This might just be my imagination but, when I was keeping track of every tank, it looked like I would loose some MPG when the price of gas would take a big jump upwards????

    No difference between winter and summer driving. We have pretty mild winters on the west coast of Washington.

    I have an 05 Tacoma access cab prerunner 4 banger. Before it was 22 mpg average both city and highway. I got a tune up replacing all the fluids, filters, etc. and now achieve 24 mpg. I also baby the vehicle but I'm going for mileage most of the time.

    The ethanol "blended" fuels are more expensive to produce and have slightly less energy content.

    That is super cool! :D

    Im getting 18 with 4:30 gears and 265/75 and a 5spd 4x4. I shift around 3k and sometimes around 2500 and 80%hwy driving.
    The truck did come with k&n drop in air filter, not cai, and it has 160k miles so I don't know if all the necessary things have been changed like spark plugs and all the oils.

    Any ideas on how to get better? id like to see 20 but im an extended cab and 4x4.

    90% city 10% highway
    no towing, no heavy loads
    all near sea level
    driving habit: moderate- neither gearhead nor grandpa

    19.2 miles/gal.

    A drop of almost 2.8 mpg since last post; although 10% increase in city mileage, would that account for a 2.8 mpg drop? Maybe winter blend, other threads/posters have suggested such.

    Have increase all tires to 35 psi to see if I can eke out more mpg.

    Bone stock 2014 regular cab 4x4 5 speed and I average 22mpg. That is probably 50% city/50% highway. All highway I get around 24mpg, not sure what all city is.

    I have gotten anywhere from 21 to 28 MPG. It seems the best mileage is when I go on a fishing trip into the hills. This involves driving about 180 K on pavement and about 30 K on decent logging roads and paths through the woods in a mix of of running 4 wheel drive high and low range. Every time I do this run I get excellent mileage. GO FIGURE!! I have a stock 2.7 Access with 265/75/17 rubber and a 5 speed. I love driving this rig in 4 low. It is perfect for the ups and downs in the Vancouver Island mountains.

    Steady driving helps mpg, but so does keeping the engine in the powerband instead of lugging it all the time. Hilly and down a gear keeps the engine running where it's actually making power instead of just turning gas into emissions.

    Jacob - it may be a mix of things clipping you top FE. Try dropping your RPMs at shifts, coasting on flats and down hills. Also, level load your foot on the gas peddle meaning find a sweet spot and keep it steady. Level loading is typically more efficient than cruise control. You may opt to create a Warm Air Intake (not a CAI, but a WAI). You can do this relatively cheaply by buying a 90 degree elbow, corrugated hose to match, and a metal exhaust coupling. Disconnect the standard intake piece between the fender wall and the air filter box. Put the 90 deg elbow on the box, connect the tubing and route the line back towards your exhaust manifold. I connected the metal coupling to the end and pointed downward at the manifold. In winter, I pull air that's 30 degrees warmer than outside the engine compartment, run leaner, and improve FE. I haven't noticed much if any power loss.

    With your manual transmission and assuming your terrain/temps are similar, I'd guess you should be pulling in the low 22s. Lots of other tricks to learn if you browse CleanMPG.com. Good luck!

    Picked up my '09 4x4 manual AC a few months ago. Initially I was getting around 19mpg. For the entire last tank, I subscribed to the "shifting at 2000-2500rpm" process and have been keeping my rpm's generally below 2000. I also greased my drive shaft just before that tank at 50K miles (probably the first time it's been done since new). This last fill-up I was right at 23.5mpg!! Mix of city and highway. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised. Next I am swapping all the tranny, x-fer case, and diff fluids to redline synthetic. Hopefully I'll continue to see good fuel economy!
