No elocker for the 8.4 rear, otherwise i would have it. So i bought one for the 9.5 ;)

This locker is an instant on and off vs the crappy oem elocker ( that I have had to replace 4 times)

I have the elocker in my front as well and wouldnt change it.
Anyone that is interested i have beaten this topic to death, here is a link to the original thread to help with reaserch:
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/248258-front-ifs-diff-locker.html

I like arb stuff just not my cup of tea. Me and air never get along and having a wearable part inside ur diff seems like a bad idea to me...

How do these not have a wearable part in them? Far as I'm concerned they have more..

Please tell me your thoughts on what the wearable part is?

I read ur post wrong, these have wearable parts like gears and stuff but arb have rubber seals and well rubber in that enviroment, in my mind is not a good idea... Call me crazy i dunno

They have gears and electronics...which electronics is mainly what I was referring to.

Rubber seals soaked in oil most thier life will be totally fine.

I don't see the advantage at all for 400 bucks more..but to each and to their own! It's a cool option I suppose.

Airplanes have electronics too does that mean you don't fly? I'm sure your truck has power windows not to mention the many other systems run electronicly. Just sayin

Yes but the 4wd actuator, elocker actuator and tcase actuator are all known things that fail on our trucks.

    that was my point.

Also not really a big deal, having an air compressor is pretty useful, and arb makes it really easy to wire the whole thing because they supply a harness to connect the whole system. Personally I would rather use an e locker, because wires dont spring tiny leaks and compromise pressure. But at this point ive already committed to the arb so im going with it.
I dont care what kind of select-able locker it is, its not "instant". It still takes time for the mechanism to move and sync into place. That being said, the time it actually takes for either an air locker or e locker to lock in is almost negligible. Especially the difference between the two. I think its cool there is an aftermarket e locker though! Didnt realize it was available for toyotas! Im just waiting to see pricing.

at 1300 USD, if you bought an arb and anything other than the smallest compressor and full price thats what you would basically be at, give or take 100 depending on compressor

For two lockers and a co2 manifold, it'll be cheaper. Not gonna use a compressor.
