Yeah, I hear you. Hate those bullshit cap screw shit they put on all toyotas. (It's all I drive). Stripped a few. And get an impact if you do your own tires, but jut use it to get the nuts on snug, then hand tight yourself, otherwise you're replacing the fn stud.

    Welcome Marc70 :canada:

i have a few impact guns kicking around Air, electric and battery ( work owns the battery one) but it is the one i like the most its a SIW 22T-A 1/2 Power class 22V cordless high-torque impact wrench. The guys use them when building bailey bridges the are expensive but get the job done, except when they drop them in the water ...... never to be seen again ..........

Yeah, where I sometimes work, they sometimes use hilty tools.
    The best, but the costliest.
I bought an electric impact at CT ( crappy tire), but for me was a good investment... till I found out it can break my lugs.
Handy to remove tires, but just snug to install.
Wish I had your garage, tools, and balls to take on all that work. That'd be awesome fun.

    Thanks for the complement

at home i have a 18x24 garage with a loft thats full of crap ( wife's words) it has a small path going through it, this will need to be cleaned out as my red 1st gen will hopefully live there to get rebuilt. I am lucky that i have access to a garage at work and the use of their basic hand tools to work on my tacoma's and now that i write this i realize that the use of this garage at work has allowed me to let my garage to become a storage area for EVERYTHING

I have two Ct electric impact guns also, I bought a big one on sale to ease with the changing of tires as setting up my compressor was a HUGE pain in the $ss and then i bought the impact socket set and it came with a bonus impact gun ....

I also enjoy hoarding tools ......

I love working with my hands doing mechanical or carpentry work, but this is not how i make my living pretty much the complete opposite. I did turn wrenches for a local ski doo dealer for a few years and this gave me the love for relational toys and working on them. Once i left the dealer and moved on to other things i found myself wanting to turn wrenches again so i took up restoring / rebuilding ski doos, sea doos, dirt bikes, atv's.

After a while i got board with the small stuff and decided to build a rat rodish 1952 gmc truck. I pulled this out of the woods collected parts for a few years then my father passed away and i donated it in his memory. A TEAM of local builders made my truck into this to be auctioned off in support of the local Ronald McDonald House

I then decided to take my DD 2002 tacoma 1st gen and restore it to its former glory, to do this i needed to stop driving it in the winter. With a Baby on the way (now here) along came the need for a 4 door

And that is how i got HERE

In my opinion it is all about basic mechanical knowledge and researching the job before you do it ..... and a manual yes this is also important !

last one about the old 52

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-t09lJrz1Q&t=10s

guy that won it / bought all the tickets owns a local rv shop and they plan on use it for advertising / making it into a Rat DRAG truck ..... they have a wrecked drag car that will donate its parts .....

The truck raised about $5000 for the charity

Back to TACOMA fun in the sun(no) snow (no) cold (no) rain (yes) what a waist of the winter.

I picked up 2 of those for work last summer and wasn't that impressed. Ended up driving an hour and a half to pick up the Milwaukee version. We were dismantling some old transmission towers in the middle of nowhere and the Hiltis felt like they were going to melt and just not enough torque.

02818A5C-AF65-4804-83D1-F42751873660.jpg This is the exact one we have, I guess where we are only using BIG hardware that is new then removed about 6-8 months later it never gets time to rust to its surroundings. We have destroyed our fair share of them.

I Ike them because they are cordless with enough power to remove most bolts / nuts on Tacoma and I guess I am not using them continuously
