    I had bought 0/2 awg gauge wire long time ago so i just that. But you are fine with 2wg gauge wire. With the wire upgrade i did alternator upgrade too.

    I fused mine with 250 amp cause of the bigger alternator.

    I dont think its much of a benefit going bigger than 4g using stock alt. Thats what i used along with keeping stock wiring intact.

    Im thinking of dropping in a bigger alt but havent really found anything in my price range the 0 gauge o the alt was more of the "I have the extra wire and fittings so why not" type of thing

    Search around for the GM144 Alt. swap. I did it and it's pretty easy. I think you buy the alt. out of a 96, or so, caddy eldorado. From what I remember, it's pretty much a direct bolt in and then you need a special plug to convert the toyota plug to gm. You can buy them on ebay for a few bucks. I think the alt. was about 150.

    I'm running a xs power d1200... Had a ho alt built running 160amp.. 1/0 knu koncepts... Big 3/4... Running 14-1500 rms 1 ohm to a fi audio SSD 10 fully built.. And the custom built alt does awesome at running speeds never drops below 14v but really needs a smaller pully to produce better voltage at idle...
