First oil change. Just gonna go with Mobil One. I hope the previous dude didn't put high milage oil in it, but odds are this thing is gonna leak like a bitch now.

Hey Taco...Good to see you post some updates.
Curious why you think it will leak??

High milage oil usually contains stuff that swells the seals. From what I understand once you start using it you need to keep using it to keep the seals swelled.

    I guess we shall see.

Also an updated on the Motorcraft trans fluid. Its working great. In my opinion I think its better than the Redline MT90. Ill update again when it gets cold out.

Probably gonna have to do the from diff seals sooner or later as they are leaking now.

Also need to figure out all the vibration issues as its getting annoying now. I mostly get it above 63mph and for some reason its random on how bad it is. I might drop the driveline and drive it in FWD mode. I wonder if its bad to take it up to 70mph in FWD mode.

Yeah, at some point in the future, I want to have my drive shaft balanced. I'll probably do that when the U-Joints go. The carrier bearing drop did help though.

I might end up putting the Baja S1's back there which would be even more ridiculous.

Attempting to put on the SR5's I found in the junkyard. Really wish you could still get these as OEM.

Also for some reason my clear is pealing like crazy here on the east coast. Anyone know how to slow this down?

Hey Taco! If you had a smaller area of clear going bad, I would suggest doing what I did in the below post. I was nervous a long tailed cat in a room full of rockin chairs just doing the one small area on my truck.
In your case, it appears to be wide spread, and depending on long the base paint has been exposed, it would be difficult to match.
I'm hoping someone with paint experience will provide some input. Sucks that you inherited the issue!

i have never noticed my paint doing this and it is driven and occasionally parked in a baking mid west summer sun
maybe some foreign chemicals touched yours at some point?
this just popped up once you made it out east?

The entire roofs clear coat is gone. I think it has to do with the color. A lot of the jade trucks Ive seen have clear peeling.

Kinda getting tired of this damn truck. Tired of chasing the same shit over and over again.

Dropped the driveline to see if thats causing the vibration.

Drove it in FWD and it seems the driveline is causing part of the problem because there is also front end vibration too.

After driving it in FWD is seems the front diff CV seals are leaking badly now. So Im guessing the CV axles themselves are vibrating.

    Here we go..
    pa0147.jpg

The passenger side seal looks like hell. You can see the spring is even coming out on the lower left. I wonder if the Bluedevil stop leak stuff swelled it to death. The driver side wasnt as bad.
    pa0148.jpg

Nice mismatch going on. Gonna replace both with the ones I took off a 4runner previously.

Taco, hate that you're having so many issues. "Hopefully" replacing the seals and cv axles will correct the issues.
