Does anyone know the factory shock length vs. the length of the adjustable 2.5 shock lengths??
I know there are numerous 2.5 lift shocks, but they should all average thee same i would think??
Anyhow, thanks in advance for any answers given. I'll be anxiously awaiting, and of course, Happy Halloween!!!!

They are slightly different per brand due to subtle design differences in each of the various components. Do you have a brand in mind?

In general, extended length 2.5" coilovers will be around ~21" extended length with around ~5" of shaft travel.

I have the Bilstein 6112's and was wondering if I place a 1 1/2" spacer (leveling spacer) and drop the springs setting to 2nd or 3rd ring, what kind of lift height and ride comfort I would get?? My curiosity is getting the best of me...
    Thanks for responding...

No, that would likely cause inappropriate strain on other components. the issue is that the total coilover length from the lower eyelet mount to the top of the spacer will be significantly longer than the factory length. Regardless of which notch your spring is mounted on.

I think the ball joint would bind at full droop. An aftermarket UCA MIGHT be able to handle this droop (particularly the uniball style arms, but its still questionable). I am not 100% certain, but either the uca would hit the coil or the lower balljoint would bind next.

Keep in mind that the spring perch notch is not lengthening or shortening the extended length of the coilover. When you move from one notch to a higher notch, the truck is "lifted" due to increased preload on the spring NOT due to increased length of the coilover.

On the other hand, top-of-coilover spacers increase the length of the coilover. In this case, the truck is "lifted" due to increased length of coilover, NOT due to increased preload on the spring.

Just about every supplier i have seen has specifically recommended NOT coupling the bilstein shocks with additional top mount spacers.

Well, I have the Rancho 2.5" lift with uca's, but have changed out all the shocks. UCA's, check; drop spacers for front drive, check; 700lb springs for billies and front bumper, check. Just curious if this would give me good road manners, and 3" lift??

No. This setup is not recommended.

"Good road manners" is as subjective as it gets. If it was my truck, I would not add a 1.5" spacer on top of bilstiens. Not only will this limit down travel (hello pot holes!); alignment numbers will suffer and you might experience wandering feeling on the highway.

Damn bro. I know who you are. O know what I must do. You are truly the Oracle of info. I will tale this info and thoroughly read it, and decide. I can't thank you enough, but thank you my Bro of the Taco. Your knowledge and ability to source info is beyond all. I am in debt to you. Heres my ride, and eventually, 35's or 37's and gears once I decide tire size....20201027_120257.jpg

Honestly, I didn’t read anything other than your first post.
After reading your second post, it sounds like you are wanting to add spacers to lift coils.

    If this is the case?
I would NOT do that, just as @ekliptiko said.
