While NOID lights aren’t always the best method.
I still find them a fairly valuable tool.

Doing what you suggested will work.
And it free. So that’s a plus for OP.

Now, we wait and see what OP finds.

No CEL, the tachometer moves while cranking.

I tested the coil pack wires, all of them were getting power. I did not test for injector function with the fuel pump hardwired though.

I made a NOID light a long time ago, I don’t know where it ended up though.

While I’m sure I could track down the problem eventually, my parents are in town and I haven’t seen them in a long time and don’t want to eat up all the time we have with this project. My Dad and I worked on it for two days, which was really cool in and of itself but we have other things to do as well so yesterday afternoon I had it towed to a shop to have them diagnose the issue.

I will report back with what they find, hopefully it’s something simple!

It’s fixed, took it in and they found a melted connector by the parking break, I think he meant shifter. It was replaced. He said he thinks the fuel pump could have gone bad and pulled too much voltage and melted it but since we replaced it already he wasn’t positive.

Works now though, no issues since.

I'm assuming it was the IB1 connector behind the drivers kick panel, it is a known point of bad connections to the fuel pump.

That sounds like what he was talking about! I’ll have to peek up in there when I have time and see if that lines up with the wiring diagram.

Thanks for the insight, I probably wouldn’t have known or even found out about that otherwise.

It's not all that common but I have seen where some members have had bad fuel pump connections at the IB1 connector.

Still here, doing well. Staying busy at work and with life.
We’re in Denver right now, putting my truck through what I imagine is its first real winter storm.

    Things going well up there?

That’s great to hear! I’m guessing it’s doing well.
Things are going well here. Not too much new either. I got a great deal on king 650 springs so I’m working on finding a spring perch. I might end up using wheel spacers since they are pretty beefy… too bad they have holes lol.

Almost got stuck once on an icy dip in the road, but I was able to rock it back and get moving again. I’ve been reading through the 4WD conversion threads on here again haha.

A wheel spacer is a good idea, if the ID is right for the strut body. How thick are they?

Good to hear you didn’t stay stuck in there. I’ve looked at those threads too and it’s way beyond me lol.

the spacer is listed as .59” thick and the ID is as close as I could with still being comfortable with clearance. I’ll let you know how it goes

Yeah it looks like a really labor intensive process, if I had a second vehicle to drive so I could take my time with the truck then maybe.

Over half an inch thick should be pretty solid, I’m curious to see how that’ll sit on there.

I’ll share the pics. It’ll be odd having bright blue coils after the green. They green did grow on me and I even painted the tailgate inserts to match.

my plan is to keep it about the same height. Depends on my mathing… which is known to be wrong

Might have to colour match the inserts again haha.
I’m sure you’ll do alright, if you can figure out anything at all with spring rates you should be good:rofl:
