Hey everyone I just wanted to give an update to my original issue regarding my 2009 Taco and the TSB.
    my original thread is on:http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/39954-tsb.html

Back in June I started to see if I could get me TSB done on my 2009 with my local dealer. The final verdict was no that the TSB didn't have anything to do with my model(2009) even though the parts are the ones listed.
My job has been keeping me busy so my scheduling has been tight to follow up on this,so I filled a complaint with BBB and got a response from Toyota today.
Here's the original complaint and their response:

    Complaint ID: 98434458 Complaint Classification:
    Complaint Description - Posted 7/23/2009 2:00:07 PM

Shortly after my purchase of my 2009 Tacoma I loaded my truck with my boat which weighs 2800lbs. (my truck has a towing package. which should carry/tow 6500lbs). The rear end sags and the front end feels loose where it won't drive straight at 55 mph on the highway.I took it to the local dealer and showed them the TSB for the leaf springs which is a known issue for this truck and parts recalled are on my vehicle which they state are not the covered material. The truck also doesn't hold the 1200 lbs carrying capacity that it's rated for at 500 lbs the rear end drops again and previously stated.
    Complaint Summary

Front end unsafe while driving while under half the rated load
    Resolution Sought

Acknowledge the suspention problem with the 2009 models and honor the spring replacement TSB to rectify this issue.

Company's Response Company's Initial Response - Posted 08/13/2009 In regards to Mr. Torres concern with the capacity of his 2009 Toyota Tacoma; upon searching the Toyota Database of Service Campaigns (SC), Service Bulletins (SB) and speaking to Ed Morse Delray Toyota, their are no SB or SC that pertain to the customer specific VIN number: 3TMJU62N19M075207 and upon inspecting the vehicle, Ed Morse deemed it to be performing as designed. Initial Response Summary Case Close

I just sent a rebutal to them regarding the issue and my concern.I think the next step would be to load the truck with several bags of sand (about 600lbs.) and drive it to them with the boat on the back as well. I hope that they just do what's rightor it's back to the drawing board and try another dealer. :(

I am betting that the "Corporate" response to your complaint was the actual local dealer and not Toyota Corporate.

BBB is like the police policing themselves. They are biased to the "business" that funds them and is a shame organization. 99.9999% of the time, people never check with the BBB before major purchases from a local business and the BBB is reactive rather than proactive.

The BBB has no legal regulatory authority to enforce anything and all they can do is forward your complaint. You would be hard pressed to name a BBB member business that has had their BBB membership revoked.

    You wasted your time.
