    Just wondering if I should be concerned about this rust?160F475F-6D27-4BB1-ABE1-98E8E375F0F8.jpg DE5CF73F-09AA-4A66-887C-143F65DDE1D1.jpg 1102991F-936E-4EDF-827D-F4D43B8D5075.jpg 25211A32-CDB8-4242-A545-542549CC1CD6.jpg 2D52AD8D-2E82-42C9-ACC3-6E6796EF9BDA.jpg 3E782025-B02F-4E29-84F8-44F5069460C3.jpg 80B1545B-1283-4378-87FF-A1E0E17B89C1.jpg

Worry about it now, not later or you’ll be regretting it like I am.

Yes worry. I would paint all of that rust with por-15 then spray the whole underside of your truck with fluid film every year before winter. I live in Iowa, truck has 185K and no rust, thanks to fluid film.

Thats about how mine looked before I touched it up. I actually just got the recall info in the mail today. If I understand it correctly they will “undercoat” it if you dont have the 10mm hole and need full replacement. Mine doesnt have any holes, mostly just the welds were rusted like yours.

What does the inside look like by the cats?

My dads 08 failed right on one of the welds. Looked pretty similar to yours.

Looks like from the inside out. But I've seen worse. Take care of it now

Rubberized undercoating is a bad choice if you live in a wet/salty part of the country. Once the coating de-laminates from the frame, which it will, it will trap salty water in there.

It's about the same amount of rust I saw with my previous truck after 6 winters. All the welds will rust first, basic metallurgy. Nothing to the point of being unsafe right now. Just spray it with Krown or Fluid Fluid before each winter.

I swear by it. Smells like bandaids for a while, but keeps the frame from rusting to hell.

I find FF smells decent for what it is (better than WD40 or lithium grease for sure). It has effectively replaced antiseize for many areas of the truck: brake rotor hub register, LCA cam bolt shanks, etc. Just bought a gallon pail of FF to spray the frame in my driveway.

+1 on avoiding the rubberized undercoating. I had it done on my old truck at the dealer - paid out of pocket for them to apply the same CRC as called out in the frame rust campaign. After 3 years the coating started to crack, revealing bad rust underneath. Removing the cracked coating is very difficult since it's still rubbery, quickly gumming up sanding discs and wire brushes.
