Driving to work today I was listening to my iPod connected through USB, which I've done without problem for a few months. At a point I tried to turn down the volume on the head unit but nothing would work. None of the buttons or touchscreen on the head unit would work, nor any of the steering wheel buttons. I couldn't turn it off either.

After about 3 minutes the stereo went mute. By then the display had already been frozen so I don't know what was causing it.

It finally decided to reboot itself after about 5 min.

I don't have anything paired via Bluetooth.

I managed to find this thread, but nobody seemed to have the same issues that I had:

Has anyone else had a similar issue?

I have a 2014 non Jbl and I have had similar problems.

First happened to me while I was streaming music via Bluetooth and running nav. I went to change something and it froze.

However I have also had it happen while just listening, all of a sudden it froze.

Have not been able to fix or diagnose this problem yet.

Thanks for the info. I'm on the fence about calling mommy since it's only happened once, and I've had the truck for a year with no issues.

I had the same issue. Mine froze when I had my iPod connected and wouldn't allow me to use anything. Once I unplugged my iPod it came back to life. Not entirely sure why but it had also done this to me with my iPhone when it is connected to Bluetooth. I have had some issues with it not loading my contacts on my home screen or displays "downloading contacts" when I want to make a call. Damn technology!!

I've seen the same thing "downloading info" from my iPod but that would only last a couple seconds and only if I was trying to change a song. The entire head unit and all controls stopped working this time.

Yeah I can't do anything with the controls.
It resets back to the screen when you turn on your car like 5 minutes later

Have any of you done a reset by holding down the on/off knob for a reboot?

Yeah that is the first reaction but not a good troubleshooting method. ☺
