Its been a good morning so far :fingerscrossed:

I got my 04b14 Tune Pack on Thursday afternoon. This morning I used TechStream to flash the T-0014-20.cuw file and get my ECU updated to 04b14. Then I used the vF Tuner to open the Flash Tool and load "04B14 2.0 Premium Octane Learn.vft"

Now if I could just get may crappy Stealership to address T-SB-0016-18; then maybe the guy at the Taco Bell Drive Thru will stop razzing me for hiding angry crickets under the hood

I might be a little late to the party here.

I just got some time today or tomorrow to flash my truck to 2.0. I have some questions. I tried searching this thread, and I just got confused.

On the utility, the option between 87,91,93 is gone and only reg and prem exist? What is the bare minimum octane rating for each choice (reg vs prem)?

Also, what is VFtuner? Do I need to download that to get the most up-to-date tunes?

Has there been any reported issues with 2.0 that I should be aware of?

you have a slow learning curve ahead with this. take your time, read and watch the vF thread. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/vf-tuner-for-the-3-5l-tacoma.662948/

Prem is premium and covers 91-93 through OL Octane Learning. Reg explains itself.

the only issue you have with 2.0 on the MT is that you don't have it on your truck. and that's about it.

04B14 has also been released and is available. take your time getting up to speed.

I try to download 2.0 using the flash manager, and I get an error.

Does the flash manager still work?

If you have one of the old versions, you need to uninstall it and install the new version. The hit update

there is a bug in the old one where update doesn’t work properly.

After a 3rd visit to my local dealer over the last few year, they finally agreed that the angry cricket needed to go. They performed the T-SB-0016-18 and we will see if the Taco Bell Drive-Thru attendant notices

So I have a few questions... I last updated my truck to 2.0 93 Super FOB before OVtune turned it over to the new platform. I havent been following this page since I updated last.

Is there anything new/different/better out from this new platform?
Can I still use my OVtune stuff to update my truck?

I have the ov tune. Is it possible to data log or read codes with the software? I just got the check engine light and trac off light. Trying to figure out what it is.

You can clear codes with toyflash, I don’t believe you can read them though. You can datalog, but that’s not gonna be useful to figuring out your issue with a CEL

if you install tech stream (link in @tonered signature) you can read them for sure.

I also had the clutch service done a few month back. Still squeaks but much less.

I had this issue with my Truck, never brought it in for the clutch pedal creak TSB.

I went under there and regreased all the pivot points. The white lithium grease they use from the factory was dry and literally crumbling. Some red grease did the trick.

You can flash 2.0 on 04b14? Is that only on the VFdownload? Im still waiting for the server error to clear to get mine registered, or is there another way to flash 2.0 on 04b14 without VF?

It’s available via vF tune pack. Send an email to zen desk to request the tune pack for 04b14

not sure which error you have, I think there’s one mat is working on fixing or just got fixed with the newest download. Also make sure you are connected to the internet so it can activate.

Yeah, I'm still waiting to register my VF. I keep getting a master key email not recognized error. I tried un installing the old version and installing the new one that they linked to me but it didn't work. I sent another e-mail to their support telling them and they told me they are waiting for either another key and or another new version of the software. So I'm stuck on stock ob14 for now. The good news is that ob14 isn't bad at all. Hoping that the tune on top of it will make it even better, but I'm liking just the stock ob14 better than 2.0 base on ob13. I was one with random power surges and dull spots while accelerating no mater what I tired. (other than 91 octane files. I refuse to pay for premium fuel in California haha). ob14 finally seems to have fixed those issues. Did notice the throttle isn't as quick to rev up going through the gears but at least it's consistent. The inconsistent throttle always drove me crazy in this truck since day 1. After almost 4 years of owning the truck I can finally say I'm happy with it. Hopefully the tune on top of ob14 will make it a dream truck.

Yes. OVT on 04B14 is even better.

It's great to hear that 04B14 Stock is doing you good though.
