Do you have to reflash it? Is that part of the SOP?

Some claim the learning comes back so they reflash... other's say it doesn't...YMMV.

So I kinda lost track of this thread and only checked in once or twice a week for a while. Did I miss something with 1.03? I got 1.03 87 and 91 files back on 11/11/17, but never saw a mention of released A,B, or C versions.

Kind of sucks that it's a YMMV situation..... wonder why it keeps reverting for some and not otheres? But it can only get better as he keeps developing.

It could just be people getting used to it (hence my suggestion for a flash back to stock to compare) OR it could be relearning bad habits. Hard to tell because we are talking about human interpretation, not actual data analysis. That's the YMMV part. :)

A, B, and C versions refer to different shift mappings for ATs. You have a MT, so your shift mappings are infinite in number...

Well yeah, but that was posted in this thread thread and he is talking about torque throttling which isn't onlo for the a/t. It is well known that the ecu does torque limiting and i am super curious about what Matt has in store for us

So I have a question about flashing the ECU. When you open the flash program can you write to the ecu without reading? I have been running the 87 octane tune and I want to return to the stock tune for comparison reasons. I read the ecu and it gives you a copy of the file to save. I'm assuming this is the 87 octane file that I installed but the file name is not the same as what was flashed. Is this the 87 octane tune that has been renamed? When I open the flash software can I not just flash the the new tune (or stock tune) and not bother with the read? If I do read first what are you suppose to do with the copy of the tune?

No need to read, just hit identify and then write the ECU file you sent Mat when you first read

If you do read, why is the name of the file not indicated what it is, 87tune, 91 or stock? It asks you to save it but the name is different and it's easy to confuse with the original stock tune. If you do read your 87 octane tune and you save it, is it a copy of it even though the name is different?

From a software standpoint, it is PCM-Flash naming convention. You have the option to rename the file however you want so long as you keep the ".bin" extension. Rename your stock tune to stock.bin to make it easier to find in the future.

I just created separate folders on my desktop for the original stock calibration, and then one for each OV release received from Mat. You can also create subfolders for 87/91.. whatever u want. There's no real need to read again once you pull that initial file and send it to Mat, and hence no more confusion over file names (the OEM one should be the only one with a non_descript file name). Any time you want to re-flash with an OV file just use the ones you get from Mat - they do have descriptive file names as you know. In other words, you're complicating the process more than u need to :)

So if you do take a read of the 87 octane tune is the saved read file a copy of the original 87 octane tune?
