Probably the most common request (but that isnt important to me) is to allow lock of rear diff regardless of the 4wd mode such as 4hi and 2wd (but I would recommend any speed requirements for initial engagement be maintained, as well as disabling traction control and abs (on rear at least).

I think more useful would be implementing 2wheel low some how. (This is done by engaging the transfer case actuator into 4lo, but leave the front ADD actuator unlocked). I already did a DIY wiring mod to do this, but doing an in-ecu solution would be great... need to figure out how you would access it.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/lock-stock-and-2wheel-low-3rd-gen-diy-mod.536677/

Lastly, I would request that for auto TRD OR (and Pro models), default MTS to on rather than to off when switching to 4Lo.

Diff lock in 4hi would have been useful for me a couple different times.

2wd low would be useful when you have plenty of traction but want more torque for low speed maneuvers (pulling out bushes/shrubs or moving around a boat)

This has leads me to the question why is diff lock not an option for 4H already from Toyota. My thought is because something will break.

The strange thing is if you get a Prerunner with the offroad package, you can enable diff lock whenever since there's no 4lo in a 2wd truck. I don't believe there's a speed it deactivates.

They only allow it in 4wd because with the rear end locked in 2wd you are must more likely to fishtail. It's tough to fishtail in 4wd the trunk tends to under-steer and push into the turn.

Our locker system works like an eaton locker. It has a ring that moves back and forth to engage or disengage around the whole center gear. When our locker system engages the ring moves towards the drivers side. This pulls the sensor out and you get your locked light. If the sensor isn't pulled out your locker light just flashes. It looks like a plunger. I imagine since they used a sensor like this that going too fast with it riding against the ring could cause damage.

We just had 4.88s installed and they installed this sensor AFTER the gears instead of BEFORE the gears. So the plunger pushed the ring out and make the rear end posi. I'll attach of picture of what it did to the plunger when I'm out of the dead zone at work.

And for even more fun, with (per my memory) the same 4wd ECU in the 2wd locked and 4wd trucks... (so in the one the 4wd ecu wont allow a lock unless in 4lo, and in the other, there is no connection to the 4lo stuff at all....)

Except Toyota has it limited to 4lo only. Atleast I think that's how it works. Never needed to use it so far. Guess I should've said anytime lock. Although I've read some of the towing threads where the manual trans guys could benefit from it.

Normally the flat side of that plunger sits against the locker ring. This one was installed incorrectly. Since this was put in AFTER the gear install it was pushing against the ring. That is the sensor that detects when your elocker is engaged. I circled where it is on the elocker.

Update on my mis-firing data that I have collected.

I took the advice of some other members and flashed back to TSB stock last night and reset my ECU afterwards (removed negative battery cable for 10mins), to make sure all residual data was cleared out. Then this morning logged the same exact trip that I took yesterday, with similar ambient temperatures, and the same fuel in the tank. To be honest, the results are quite concerning for the 1.05 tune, in its current state, and really hope @OVTune will take notice. I was very happy on the tune - mpg/throttle response/shifting gears all seemed good, however without logging data the amount of misfires would have went un-noticed. I know that even on Stock TSB there are mis-fires, but no where close to the amount of misfires I am getting on the 1.05 tune. I have also attached all the CSV files for each trip so you can view. This is in no way a bashing post or to take away from all the hard work that has gone into 1.05. This is simply a post to bring awareness to others that 1.05 needs some improvement, and others may be experiencing the same results. I didn't notice the misfires in my daily driving, logging was the only reason I knew it was happening. The biggest concern I have right now, is we seem to be discussing future features, rather than discussing how to improve the base 1.05 tune to function at the same or greater efficiency than the stock Toyota tune. While it seems to excel in some areas, the significant increase in misfires seems concerning. I know it has been stated multiple times that the engine is more unstable while cold, but I am not willing to risk the longevity of my motor to run 1.05 in its current state. I have also sent Mat an e-mail with all this data to see if he can use this in anyway to improve this. Like I stated earlier, this post is only to figure out how to improve 1.05.

Here is a breakdown of my commutes over the last 5 days, all on the same fuel:

    [1.05 87] 1/27: ~24 Misfires

    [1.05 87] 1/28: ~27 Misfires

    [1.05 87] 1/29: ~ 29 Misfires

    [1.05 87] 1/30: ~ 31 Misfires

    [TSB STOCK] 1/31: ~ 7 Misfires

Thank you for the data. I'm already working on current 1.05 and working towards solving any current and outstanding issues.
The current conversation regarding the locker does not mean that I'm working on that right now. No extra features will be released until all current issues are fixed.

Which octane version of 1.05 where you using.

I’m sure OVTune uses optimum settings. Meaning, we may be at the mercy of whatever fuel comes out of the pump, something beyond Mat’s control. Just because the pump says 93 octane doesn’t make it so. I’m not sure how much octane flexibility Mat built into 1.05, but the mantra “do not use a lower octane than your tune” has been stated repeatedly. I’m running 1.05 93 on (I hope) 93 gas. I haven’t logged any data, but now I wonder if I should step back to the 91 tune with 93 gas to give myself some margin.

If we're making up a wish list for future options how about the 7000 RPM redline for the auto's too with associated new WOT shift points? Oh yeah, the diff lock anytime was super useful in 2WD when I had my old prerunner.
