Interesting. It must be the tune. The URD one throws a CEL on the stock maps.

    Hi All,
I posted this in the technical chat section but didn't get any action. Figured one of you flash-masters could help even though I realize this isn't related to the tune.

New TRD OR 4x4 production date 03/19. One of the few unlucky ones to have the brake override malfunction horror show on my truck twice in less than 40 miles. Thankfully had my scanner and was able to clear the codes to get back on the road. It's been about 500 miles now without issue but I want to take it into the dealer. Thing is, I have flashed the ECU 3 times now from 87 base, back to stock, and now 1.05.1 base.
I understand there are issues with the radar sensor and possibly the throttle actuator (P2119 at same time of brake override malfunction). Will they still be able to find those faults through techstream even though I have flashed different tunes on it since the issue? I just don't want to look like a dumbass telling them about these life-threatening hard faults and there be no evidence when they hook it up to the computer.

The tune is un-detectable by the dealer. If you are concerned you can always flash back to stock. If there are active faults, they will show up regardless of what tune you are running. If you cleared the codes, they may not/probably won't show up for the dealer. If you are curious and want to see for yourself, you can install Techstream on your computer and see. Added bonus, with Techstream you can do some fun/useful customization too.

Wait, what?! I just assumed that Techstream was a proprietary software platform for dealers only. Let me google that for myself!
I figured that the tune only re-writes certain sections of the EROM and evidence of the codes would still exist. Thanks for the info brother!

I had my TSS recall done and also had a brake malfunction the day before. I had to clear the code through flash manager and flash back to stock then back to 93 base. When I took it in they did the recall and stated there was no active codes for the brake override malfunction. Next time it does it I’m calling and having them tow it so they can check the code themselves.

No issues since clearing and reflashing though.

Literally all the info to get it installed is in this massive (2297 page) thread. If you search "techstream" limited to this thread you will get plenty of info. If you don't find the download links or information you need. PM me....

Was this recall just the waterproofing of the radar sensor or did they replace it? Did you also get the P2119 DTC for throttle valve actuator and if so, did they replace any part of that assembly?

Pretty sure it was just the waterproof sealing and they updated the software for it. Or so it says. And I didn’t read the code before I cleared it. I’m waiting to see if it happens again.

Cool. Thanks Ryan. I'm gonna go ahead and take it in asap then. Stored codes or not. That shit was scary man! Matt says this is my next step.
Funny, I had 2 faults on 87 base 1.05, went back to stock for a few days but hated how it drove, and flashed to 87 base 1.05.1 and it has been very good since for like 400 miles. Getting better and better as the LV's settle in.
I'm not gonna flash it back to stock before taking it in either!

Brought mine in for 5K service and they did the recall. Not once did they ask about the Tune. I just took my dongle out of the truck so they didn’t see the equipment.

I believe it is, mine threw CEL with URD Y-Pipe (secondary cats) and I tried clearing it many times it would always reappear. After I flashed OVTune it has never happened again after 10,000+ miles.

What kind of performance gain do you think you got with the Y-pipe?

that's interesting. I've had OV for over 30k miles, but only have had the Y pipe installed for the last 10k or so. and never a code of course. that would be so great if no code at all.

I deleted my post earlier because all of that info is on this thread:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...harger-and-twin-turbo-systems.566390/page-100

So yes. I didn't get the memo.
In short, for those that didn't know. Matt will have three different kit for a Supercharger kit. Stage 1, 2, and 3. Rotex supercharger. He is still going to make a turbocharger kit. But for those that want simplicity and more budget friendly. Supercharger kit is now an option as well.
