Those are the gears in the front and rear differential.

What's the process to upgrade and what are the benefits?

Unless you wrench, it’s a couple thousand to have it done. Keeps your truck a little higher in the rpm range, torque and power are up a bit. Limits your top end some, but not an issue for 4.88. Might be an issue for 5.29.

Well, even if you wrench, the gears still cost a bit.

You have to get new ring and pinion, or gears for both and have them installed. Quite expensive. Better off line acceleration and much better control when in 4lo for off roading. Also used when installing much larger tires to help with loss of power due to extra weight and tire diameter.

I've already sent a support note to Matt but I'm hoping someone here can help point me in the right direction. I received the handheld and connected to my truck. It appears to have downloaded the stock ECU and stored it on the device. However, the stock ECU was 04B02 at that time. Subsequently, I've had the dealership apply a couple of TSBs which has taken the ECU to 04B04 currently. When I connect the tablet to the truck both the read and write buttons under Tune are disabled. Not sure if I've screwed something up by reading the ECU into the tablet with the old version but that's my guess. Any suggestions?

doubt a TSB update would be the major issue - I think the device is attached to your ecu "id" and there is a way to "update" to the current ecu "version" = 04b04. Pretty sure Mat will respond, soon. I'd like to offer more support but I don't have a HH.

That’s the first I’ve heard anyone say 2.0 feels worst than stock.

    What is the issue?

Winter temperatures significantly affect overall mpg.

around town it’s fine, highway it’s super anemic. it holds 6th gear, but won’t downshift to 5th. i have to step on it to get it to shift. then it goes to 4th (which i would expect) I’m not going to worry about it unless it becomes consistent. c
mileage also went to trash. was getting 21-22, now 17.
edit- mileage is probably the winter gas.
