FIFY, theres no 2.0 final with gear lock yet. Thats coming later to the 2.0 final when the rest of the variations are ready for us to enjoy.

i threw my oe 245’s on this week, and my mileage skyrocketed. i reset the eco when i got on the highway- floated between 25.7 and 26.3.

overall mileage was 24 city/highway. i was driving normal also, not hypermiling or any of that mess.

nice - I am certainly seeing some of the best MPG ever. It will certainly fall like everyone knows when you get up above 70 or drive it like a race truck everywhere but with just my version of normal driving I am getting 21+ around town. Pretty nice balance to be "able to get" but also be able to "punch it and go" if you don't care. We folks say if Toyota could save any MPG by investing in this or that (read as: front air damn) I really can't agree since the a proper tune has really improved my MPG possibilities. Nice work @OVTune .. can't wait to load a performance map on my ECT ;)

That is the problem with calling all the versions 2.0. There are at least 3 versions now that have been called "final" when they were rolled out, only to have some issue crop up that is the rectified by another "final". I am not complaining about them fixing these issues at all, so Mat, please don't take that as such. But when discussing the issues, it can be very confusing on how to describe which version you are referring to. The version I am currently running was released as a "2.0 final" for testing prior to releasing to everybody, and it has gear lock. But it was also found to cause the pause when starting, so it was superceded by the "final" versions that don't have gear lock. I have not upgraded to those yet because I value gear lock more than I worry about the startup pause.

Maybe we are reading different things, maybe I'm not following as closely as you. I've only seen 2.0 Beta's come out until the most recent 2.0 that was given the label Final last month. :notsure: I've seen the 2.0 final term thrown around but never by OVtune for a release until last month. This could likely be me not paying enough attention, my poor care for reading comprehension in the thread or not having the tune long enough or closely following the :crapstorm:this thread can be at times before purchase. I only purchased it back in Feb/March.

Back in mid April, he put out a file for 04B04 that was supposed to be "2.0 Final for testing", with the intent of releasing for all ECUs shortly thereafter. See this post https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...lopment-thread.495735/page-3041#post-23186730. The subsequent versions that actually got released as 2.0 Final don't have the GL.

I did not change the version name because i'm 100% sure if I did, we would get bombarded with "I never got 2.0!"

Since it states "for Test/Review" I likely I ignored the wording "final" that preceded that. In the end all that matters to me is that OVTune is doing everything they can to release the best product possible. I've been happy with all tunes since 1.05 which is what I paid for and am still seeing how the most recent release of 2.0 Final is on the truck. I think I'm around 400 miles since resetting the LV/AT or whatever settings so it should be nearly done learning again. Once the GL version is released I'll likely switch to that.

Agreed. My post wasn't taking a shot at anybody. It was just to specifically answer the statement being made that GL didn't work with CC.

lol it’s true. Someone would definitely complain they got 2.1 instead of 2.0. Just like the people that got 2.0 instead of 1.05...someone is always unhappy it seems

Who would be unhappy about getting 2.0 instead of 1.05? That makes no sense.
Are you sure you didn’t misunderstand them?

What I HAVE seen is that people are upset that OVTune keeps saying over and over that nobody paid for 2.0. Even though 2.0 is the only tune available for their specific vehicle and was the only reason they purchased OVTune at all.

And yes, these purchases were done after 2.0 was announced and before VFTuner was announced. Which was about a 9 month Time period.

Nobody is upset with the product. OVTune is awesome.

I think you missed the point. There are Karens every where. If theres no reason too bitch and complain about something somebody will find some reason to even if there are no grounds or reasoning behind it. Have you not seen some of the ridiculous complaints in this thread even after resolutions or requests to wait until the tune settles have been posted?

I went to Hankook Dynapro ATMs (RF10 P 245 /75 R16 109T SL OWL) and they have been great for my needs. Might go to 265's in the same model when they wear out.

So I got my 2.0 final? HH Tunes and loaded them to HH unit I think. Got this in October 2018 and still haven't tuned truck. I have 32 tires so going with 91oct tunes with 33's. I'm hoping to only do this once so would like everyone's input on Thx or non who's run them both. It will take me over a month to get 500mi and with the HH unit and you cant clear values. Any input is appreciated. :hattip:

Recently flashed to 2.0 beta for 04A16 now I cant flash for the Final. I can open Toyflash but the p5 flash utility button under tuning is greyed out and unclickable.
I don't have toyflash downloaded separately anymore? I deleted that as an instructed to update a clean install to the most recent software to go from 1.5 to 2.0b....

I somehow got the toy flash to open by clicking a P5flash software link on a read only instruction sheet.

    Getting error:

"There was a problem preparing selected file. Probably it's corrupted or has unsupported format. Please Check it and try again.

I redownloaded and zip'd the files but still no luck, same error.

    Can anyone help me? Lmfao.

I’d run the non THX. I have tried both and liked the non THX better on the 04B04 ECU. Shifted smooth. Just didn’t like the downshift to 4th on small uphill inclines. But definitely better on Non THX. You will love it since you have NEVER had a tune loaded on your truck.

Haven't been in a hurry because my truck actually shifts and drives really well since the TSB. Just hoping for a little extra power and mpg. Thanks for the input. :hattip:
