I need to replace my 2GR-FKS w/o vacuum pump engine. The w/o pumps are harder to find. Does anyone know if I can remove the pump and install a plate where the pump was?

check this out (c). you may need more than just installing the plate. Looks like the cam supplies oil to the pump. I sAw somewhere that you need a ball to block the orifice in the cam or perhaps swap the cam

Thanks.... I'll keep working on finding a w/o pump... maybe easier in the end.

Curious, what happened to your engine and at what mileage?

I'm not exactly sure, mechanic speculated the previous owner did the free dealer oil change then never changed the oil again. Gummed up the rings and one cylinder go screw. I have scoring on the intake side of cylinder 4. I changed the oil every 5000 miles max. Anyways... started burning oil, I did all the small stuff first.... then had the cylinder scoped and found the scoring. Initially, I thought it was going to be valve seals.

Need to install the sealing ball into the cam on a w/o pump motor and then install the block off plate.

When you remove your old motor you can take off the block off plate and install the ball to the same depth in the new motor’s cam as it was in the old motor.
