    Hi there!

First, thank you all for all the information on this site for the past year, it made my life easier to by my first truck, a 2020 Tacoma TRD Sport manual Cement Grey.

    Subject:
So, I bought LED strips for my truck bed and I was going to use the switch that came with it. While looking at the best route to run my wires, I remembered that some 2020 models came with the bed side lights. When removing my tail light, I noticed 2 wires with a connector and it was plugged to a "dummy" female connector to seal it. Haven't tested it yet, but it as to be for the bed lights.

    LED light connector?
    Connector.jpg
    Goal:
The idea is to plug the LED strips to the factory LED bed connector to operate with the Cargo switch light.

    Questions:
Can this "dummy" connector be used for the LED strip side in order to plug in the truck male connector?
If yes, anyone would know how to remove those blue caps and insert the wires, etc?
Inside the plug, the white plastic tab can be pulled loose... not to sure what it does.

otherwise I know I can snip the connector and use aftermarket ones. I just preferred not sniping anything for now.

Any advice would be really appreciated.
    Thanks!

It can...the blue plugs just push out, do it from inside. The white portion inside is the locking bar for the terminals.

The tailgate connector is different but might use the same terminals. Take a look carefully close, there should be some (x5) numbers on the connectors.

    thanks caribe makaira!
the 5 digits number is not the same as the other one...
The one I'm concern with is #11002
    I can also notice a small N34
    led connector.jpg
not to sure if they use the same, but at looking at the picture of the pin for the powerlock harness and the female connector under, they don't seem to match.
    led female connector.jpg
I just found an electronic shop around, I might drop by and ask.
Toyota can order the pin but they come with a small wire already connected and they charge something like 15$cdn per terminals!?? lol

If anyone have any tips, feel free to comment! :)

Have you considered using the factory bed lights? I got mine for about $60 and it's plug and play. They are pretty bright and do a good job at night for illumination under the bed cover. If you don't have a bed cover it's really bright with the aft facing lights over the cab.

Yes... I came accross another thread where it was mentionne they were around 80$us. Meaning over 100$cdn.
Maybe I should of check first.
But under 30$cdn and the strip may have a better lighting under my toneau cover if the bed as a lot of stuff in it...
    I don’t know.
Prefer the stock look and less trouble, but might like the led strip for the price.
    Terminals are still not here...

And by the way, I really like the light output from the LED strip!
Even with the cover on and a lot of items in the bed, you can see clear all the way to the end.
More trouble then buying the OE lights, but a different lighting for a little cheaper.

FYI, for those with a 2020, just buy the bed light kit, and it comes with harnesses to attach to the existing harness. I did it in like 2 min
