After months of looking and waiting for new wheels for my Tacoma I decided on a set of "2020 Pro Style" wheels. I thought that 16" was better at the time and was looking for at least a 8" wide rim for more tire options. After reading all the great information Tacoma World offers I ended up looking for C load tires. After searching tire sites for tires I was interested in I found more C load tires available in 17". The final deciding factor was price and not living in the US where pricing is less and dollar value is currently higher. Also, the shipping and brokerage fees are killing me. So purchasing here in Canada with free shipping is similar to what my American friends enjoy.

Here are some pictures of the wheels I received last week and will show the wheel centers once I receive them today or tomorrow.

These came from Wheel Collections Ltd. I will add the link below as they are tricky to find on the website.

    17x8" Wheels with +15 Offset with 6 x 139.7 bolt pattern weighing 21.2 lbs

These require Mag Seat Flat Washer Lug Nuts, 60 mm Center Caps should fit nice.

I found mine in the box marked "Mixed Parts" and they are metal painted. They came with blue protective film and the lettering is stamped in so they are not completely flat. The back has a thin black adhesive pad that is peel and stick, but thick enough to accommodate the stamped letters.

    Smileyguy,
Sorry for all the questions but if you don't mind. So the trd center caps came with the wheels ?
Also did you get the tpms sensors preinstalled with the wheels from wheelsco. If so will you just get a local shop to program these sensors or do you have the tool.
I didn't realize that Toyota's need yo be reprogrammed every time you swap wheels . My other vehicles all auto learn. Now I am looking at buying a tool .

Thanks from a guy across the bridge on PEI

Centers came in the box at no extra charge. I purchased 4 new TPMS sensors online from ebay for $65 USD shipped.

The Toyota OEM TPMS part number is 42607-06030 or you can search PMV-C015.

I purchased this Autel TS508 TPMS meter it is also sold locally at Princess Auto...

With the autel ts508 does it matter what brand tpms sensors are used ? I thought I read that the ts508 unit only worked with autel brand sensors.
I will have the oem set and the yet to be purchased set. Just want to make sure all are compatible before I pull the trigger on these components

Works with 99% all brands. You need their sensor's for cloning the id's of your current sensors. I have triggered my new sensors from ebay to confirm they work and that the battery level is ok. I have also scanned my other 2 sets on our Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross. Autel has some You Tube videos for their online academy...

Finally installed my wheels after completing my other summer projects. I needed to build a 12x16 shed to work in as I do not have a garage. Also built a work cart and finally my 5x7' roll-up door arrived so I could move my stuff in from the old shed.

    20200830_192923.jpg

    20200630_152829.jpg

My first work was to clean and prep the new wheels with CarPro Eraser. Second was to put 2 coats of CarPro Cquartz Dlux ceramic coating. I still have almost half of the Dlux left after 2 coats on 5 wheels.

    https://carzilla.ca/products/carpro...oil-remover-500ml?_pos=3&_sid=8969affd7&_ss=r

    https://carzilla.ca/products/carpro-cquartz-dlux-30ml-kit

The tires need to be mounted and balanced before being cleaned and coated. Looking forward to using the Autel TS508 TPMS tool to program the ECU. Notice that this tire was flat! (valve core issue)

    20200906_175501.jpg

So, here it is with new shoes, BFG KO2 +3.3% 265/70R17 C load and Canadian TRD Pro Style 17x8 +15 offset wheels in matt black from wheelsco.ca ($799 CDN + tax for 4 wheels) I purchased 5 so my spare would match in case of a tire failure or wheel gets damaged. Also the stock spare is slightly smaller 265/70R16.

    20200909_193036.jpg

Going from the factory offset of +25 mm to +15 mm is only 1/2 inch of poke towards the curb. I did also leave the front mud flaps on to see if there is any rubbing and will report back later.

    20200909_193531.jpg

    20200909_193546.jpg

Important to know that I have no lift with a +3.3 tire difference from stock, which means I will be doing 62 mph when the speedometer displays 60 mph.

    20200909_193647.jpg

Tires fill in nicely with no lift. Also purchased 24 black mag lug nuts M12x1.5, 1.87" tall.

Today I completed updating the ECU with the new TPMS ID's using the Autel TS508.

    Final look..good to go!

    A few.
Looks great. Those 17 inch wheels give you more options for tires, especially if your looking to go with a non e-rated tire.

After researching available tires in 16" and 17", 17" won hands down. I would prefer not to buy wheels and tires over just tires but you need 17" for C load. Also, 16" tires are slightly cheaper than 17".

Wouldn't have been better to go with 265/65/17 and then the speedometer would be nearly accurate?
