I don't recall (off the top of my head) anybody installing using an SPOD, but I can't think of any reason it would be an issue.

You can see the schematic for the mod in the attachments in this post https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/lock-stock-and-2wheel-low-3rd-gen-diy-mod.536677/

All the switch does in this mod is apply 12v to the 4pdt relay, which does all the heavy lifting (of grounding, opening circuits, and connecting the spoof resistor). You should be able to apply the 12v from your SPOD instead of the switch without any issue.

Exactly. All you need is the relay coil + wire. Pin 2 of the green plug.

Well I finally got around to installing my 2Lo kit and what a clean setup this is. Everything was top notch. Backing up my trailer is soooo much easier now. And I will love the lower speed working around the farm.

More like just holding out until there are enough folks to justify another order. I think it was 50 last time?

FWIW I underestimated the value of this mod. I back uphill into my driveway every day, I didn’t think it would be worthwhile for the time it took to switch but it’s totally manageable. Thanks for the great contribution @lapoltba really digging this mod!

The batch I had made is sold out.

When I get back from vacation I will start another GB list.

This was the view yesterday morning from my campsite in the North Clear Creek Falls National Forest Service campground in Rio Grande National Forest.

I highly recommend everyone go explore *YOUR* national parks.

I did this mod and think its awesome, my only complaint is with the ch4x4 switch. What have people been doing to get the blue led to match OEM? Its driving me nuts!

I believe there is a thread around here somewhere. Basically, disassemble the switch and put a bit of tint in there to change it?

That one looks pretty good to me. But, some have noted that the lighting is not as even as the Toyota switches. It doesn't bother me, but just wanted to note that.

Ah, I have not seen that thread. Might need to know the level of tint needed hence finding the thread could be helpful.
I must be semi color retarded I guess but it looks like an exact match to me. Maybe I’ll see a difference once I’m done with my new blue garage door switches. Good incentive to get going on that.

It was in a general switch lighting thread. I believe in the 3rd Gen section.

It isn't the color, but just even-ness of the lighting. I have no issue, but someone posted about that in this thread.

I had (have) some garage door switches that I attempted to get installed. Testing them with the remote that I modded, the range was not as good as I would have liked. But then, the MyQ device was discovered. It works like a champ.

With the initial discount that we got plus the credit back on the first in-garage delivery, they paid us to get it.

Another option might be yellow as it might match the Qi charger switch for anyone keeping that guy visible. I’m planning to shove mine behind the console if/when I do seat heaters unless or until I install my lsp8
