    Do you remember if you could take apart the alternator without cutting off the diode assembly to replace the main bearings. My alternator still works great but one / or both bearings are going bad... 30 bucks for quality bearings vs 280+$ for a new unit sounds much better to me.

    I didn't take mine that far apart but from a couple youtube videos it looks like you may be able to take the 4 case bolts out and the field windings may stay in the back half while you replace the bearings

    Now to find bearing sizes....

    Naw im good, my alternator looks brand new out of my 2013, Ill just replace bearings.

    @Sandman614 thanks for the write up! Just replaced the rectifier tonight, testing tomorrow before reinstall.

    Edit: alternator checked out good today!
