SPC are THE best for clearing larger tires from the firewall area. The only way to push the wheel forward is with your cams. Adjusting cams effects castor and camber. SPC adjusts camber from the upper bj so you are able to max out your cams for tire clearance and not worry about balancing castor and camber. Hope that makes sense. I think they just came out with a new design to.

Catching up on your Ouray/Telluride trip... Looks like a good time. I'm going to run black bear in two weeks and then just aimlessly wander around trails out that way. I'd like to do Poughkeepsie but not sure if that's a great idea being I'll likely be solo.

That makes sense on the SPCs. Like I said, I know people love them and swear by them. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen 33s with no lift and no cab mount chop with spcs. Can’t do that with factory or TC. I’m not trying to knock them.

The most difficult obstacles on Poughkeepsie have bypasses. I was also alone so I bypassed everything and without the hard stuff I don’t think it was much worse than the most difficult sections of Imogene.

awesome build man! it's cool to see you start local to me (east coast) at rausch a bunch, then move out there! My good friend since highschool just moved out there, and i'm already super jealous of the landscape change.

BTW, I didn't have good luck with that CB, I ended up going one piece and IMO that's one of the best moves i've made for the truck lol

Thanks man! It's been a fun build with lots of inspiration from people here. Had I stayed on the east coast, my truck would probably look very different right now.

Appreciate the feedback on the CB vs 1-piece. I am still leaning towards a 1 piece even after $140 on that one for the ford ranger. I made some calls at lunch and I'm going to get a quote on a 1 piece after work today. Regardless, I will rebuild this one and keep it as a spare.

Any concern about clearance with a one piece?

Not really. With the 35s and my lift I think i’ll be alright.

Quote was $475 with a double cardan front. I pick it up Wednesday. A little more than I wanted to spend and definitely not planned or budgeted for, but it’s one and done.

Price seem about right to you without knowing someone?

Not that it matters at this point... they are building it tomorrow.

475 seams quite reasonable. I paid 300 when I had my rear 2peice shaft rebuilt. Included 3 new joints, cut, balance and adding a slip yoke

That makes me feel better. Seemed about right. 300-350 seems about right for a standard, but the DC adds at least $100

Picked up and installed my 1-piece double cardan from Bills englewood driveshaft (https://m.billsenglewooddriveshaft.com/)

    I love their slogan...

    “You can’t beat my shaft!”

I really can’t tell any difference in clearance. Hangs about as low as the factory one as far as my eye can tell.

And the best part is, no more launch vibe! I forgot what a proper drive train is supposed to feel like.
