Single AAL can make the ride pretty stiff with an empty bed, recommend a 3 leaf progressive AAL instead.

    This is what I did:

    885 coils
5100s (2nd gen) front and back
1/4 driver side spacer for taco lean
Wheelers 3 leaf progressive AAL with overload left in.
ECGS bushing replacement as a preventive measure since everything was already apart.

Gave me just under 2 inches front and back, kept the factory rake and still feels very close to stock ride.

Details and before and after pics here.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/dclb-with-885-springs-5100s-at-0-and-3-leaf-aal.502144/

Skip the diff drop but recommend the ECGS bushing instead. Some people need UCAs with 887 coils to get a decent alignment, some don't. Didn't want to worry about it so I went with 885 coils.

Didn't need extended brake lines for the 3 leaf AAL.

Thanks. My biggest question now is if I want to go 887 and risk having to get new UCAs or stick with 885s. Pretty sure my next set of tires are gonna be 255/85/16 skinnies. 885 should clear them and there won't be rubbing issues because of shorter width. But it's all about the look ya know lol.

Should be good, especially if staying with the stock OR wheel.

I wanted to keep the rake, not interested in a level truck as I haul things pretty regular so with a load, a level truck would ride nose high.

I see posts that say 887s give people about an under 3 inch, about 2.5 inch lift after settling. Can anyone comment if UCAs are necessary with that amount of lift? I keep seeing different "thresholds" that require new UCAs.

Every truck responds differently depending on how much your springs will settle.

You could also go with 1/2 inch spacer on driver side and 1/4 inch on passenger with 885.

I think so but check with Marie at Headstrong to be sure. I guess it depends on what else you have lifting the front.

So you want 1/2 inch on passenger side, 3/4 on driver? I think it would work.

Won't that put me slightly nose high or more level? I was thinking about getting a little higher leaf pack. Maybe dakars or something.

yes..right now i feel like a have to make a lot small corrections to stay straight while driving if that makes sense. Maybe I didn't get a good alignment to begin with. Might just get that checked first....will update

4th notch, stock coils and yes, stock UCAs. Between the slight lift and the taller tires it sits nicely...

I love the ride.... I haven't trimmed anything, so if i turn left sharply or stick it just a little to the left, I do get some rub... but otherwise it's good to go... I will probably end up trimming back a bit...

Does it just rub plastic? Or do you think you'll have to do the body tuck?

Is there anyone in the Raleigh area that has replaced their ecgs bearing and would be willing to help me replace mine?
