yep. Guys are doing over 18 on stock internals for years now.

I dont plan on running this setup forever. This will probably be a built engine by this time next year.

I always wanted to turbo my 2.7L but it's a bit expensive, lol. LC Engineering has some nice turbo/supercharger kits. But then again, a bit pricey. And I can't afford that right now.

My build, not counting the transmission mods, ran right around 2000-2500. Not that bad, but A LOT more is planned for it in the near future. New wheels, completely new suspension set-up and so on..

Turbo builds are definitely do-able on a budget, and can be done right.

Boyfriends got a T25 layin' around w/ a side mount intercooler from a supra. He was plannin' on turbocharging his car, but then realized all the work it'd be. lol All I'd really need to fo is find a manifold with the flange for the T25. Piping, my dad can do. lol he's certified to weld anywhere except underwater. :D

t25 is waay too small and would probably be boosting at idle lol. I have one sitting about 2 feet from me. You're gonna want a t3 or t3/t4 hybrid. Plenty of manifolds out there, i'll probably end up upgrading to a manifold with an external wastegate, then i'd sell mine.

All Stock-All New..deck-plate, blinker, diff snorkel mods. Speed-bleaders(including clutch&load sensor). Bilstein all around. Performance brake pads and shoes. Trail and fog lights. HD u-joints. iEquus gauges-oil pressure, water temp, volts, A/F mix. Extra cab light. Bed lights. Over-sized condenser. Oil blow-back trap and filter. K&N drop-in. Extra Deep cycle battery. Performance clutch. New cooling system, oil pump, altenator...and a few more i'm sure. always adding more.
Well I know this may sound crazy, but I had a similar problem when I put in my new motor. I had the truck apart for a about a month, time and money you know(gaskets, belts, fluids adds up fast). Well when I got her all back together I had a real rough idle(and its electric), what had happened was a wasp had made a nest in the fitting coming off the throttle body to the brake booster, cleaned them out and it purrrrrred so beautifully. So blockage or leak in the vacuum lines. I just put in all new vacuum lines on mine about two months ago and yeah it did make a difference, I really had no driving issues but much smoother and her hwy cruising speed went from 58 to 63, stuff isn't cheap though. I don’t know how long you have you truck apart and what conditions, I got wasps cause I have to have the garage open in the warm California summer when your throwing a wrench on the truck. Just one more thought, might be wrong, isn’t there a check valve in the brake booster where the hose goes to the TB, don’t know for sure I think mine has one V6 though. Chris4x4 will have the good intel. Hope this helps
