98 Tacoma V6/4-wheel expert - HELP, please.

    For the past (2) Weds, I visited (12) junkyards and (2) dealerships. As soon as the counter persons see me, they instantly assume I am a dumb female who ignorant of engine…. Wish I show them how incompetent I am on the race track. Total waste of time.
    I aided in putting a new engine in this truck. Since we did not take it out, I am confounded of the following and I hope you guys can help. I need to know what they are and were to purchase them.
    Issue 1 – The mysterious wire – what is this? Where does it go from attached end. What are the broken ends? Where do I get replacement

    After pouring over the manuals, the wire is the knock sensors wire. Ya know where to get one? Thanks so much
