The kit will arrive early next week.

I'm also putting in an order for them Wheeler's super bumper stops and BPV relocation bracket (maybe 2... the other for the e-brake (cause I use it a lot)).

Might be 2 weeks before I can get to the install. Gonna wait for the bump-stops, BPV, and I need a torque wrench (mine went 'missing').

Blown CV boot? The OME kit with 881s and Dakar (no AAL) is supposed to be about 2" up front, 2.25 out back after settling. Right?

If they're in good shape you probably won't need to worry about it, but if they're old and inflexible you'll might have one rip after you install the lift. Better take a look at them now so you'll know what to expect.

If you see this, just plan on rebooting it now. Or better yet, do it while you wait for the kit to arrive.

The SuperBumpstops are en route with the BPV relocation kit.

Still need some tools to get this done though. Might have to wait another week before I can bolt it up.

Nice pile of parts, I would spray all boltsso it can soak. Also I like to check front end before so there are no surprises. Especially cam adjusters, Mark them, loosen bolt (not nut), then move nut adjuster. If they don't move, all 4 cam adjusters and bushings will need to be replaced. You won't be able to align otherwise. Then check lbj, ubj and tie rods. I worked on a truck from your neck of the woods earlier this year. Frame looked good no rust, but every bolt was siezed. Good luck

A 14mm ratcheting wrench would be useful for swapping the front coils, but I managed it with a ratchet - space is definitely tight in there though. I'll be picking one up before I take them out again.

yeah, two of them I can get with a ratchet (barely), but that inner one takes like 300 minutes with a box wrench. A ratchet wrench is def a good idea here...

So just curious here but order from headstrong or wheelers? When I checked yesterday, headstrong still is out of stock on the coils so they cannot do the assembly.

For those who have ordered from them - any opinions/preferences on either?

EDIT: forgot to add assembly for the wheelers screenshot - about 1394 total.

Looks like this is going down Saturday.

Got me a small list of tools I need to pick up.

Other than the 14mm ratcheting wrench mentioned above... what should I get?

I know I'm bleeding the brakes so I will need some hose, empty jug, and some brake fluid.

Is there a special wrench for the brake lines? Would it be the same wrench for the OEM and Wheeler's extended?

The Hayne's manual should have the torque specs, right?

Oh. There was a nice freaking write up on this install somewhere on the forums. I thought I bookmarked it, but I did not (damn it).

I specifically remember seeing a picture where the owner used a ratchet strap to keep the rear axle from moving while un-bolting the leaf (one side at a time). I took mental note of that, but would love to go over the thread again. If you know which one I mean, please post up a link.

RAGS!, degreaser and an extra set of hands wouldn't hurt. Have all the packages open, see how everything will install and get the correct tools out.
    Brake fluid will get everywhere.

I'd get a brake line wrench too. I got the stock ones off using a normal wrench, but I just about stripped every side on one of the bolts. The wheelers brake lines will be fine installing with a normal wrench.

The rear I used 4 jack stands. 2 to support the entire rear of the got the tires off and put the other 2 under the axle with about a inch gap before it touches and the floor jack with just slight pressure. Basically made it so when you start unbolting the u-bolts the axle drops onto the floor jack/jackstands and the springs are hanging there without load/pressure above the axle so you can unbolt them and slide them out.
    Kinda like this.

Brake lines are 10mm,14mm and 17mm. wheeler and oem not the same. Be careful wheelers brake lines strip very easy

Thanks @JDawg562 and @pairodice ! They are flare nuts right?

    About to go down.

Knowing my own track record... it's comforting having a second vehicle.

Correct flare nut wrench for the 10mm and 14mm. I also find it easier to take out the spare to get to the upper brake line. I wouldn't but ratchet wrenches either, i have a set and never use them the head is to big for most spots. Upper strut mount aren't bad with a regular wrench unless it's rusty. The new ones you got just finger tight then they only need a couple turns with the wrench

    I think i forgot something.

Should I have purchased some new front leaf spring bolts?

I'm talking about the bolt that mounts the front side of the leaf to the truck. The one that a lot of people have to cut off.

I don't think the OME package comes with new ones.

I found grade 8 bolts at Ace hardware that worked; had to cut mine out.

Hmmm. Gonna have to find some today just in case.

The OME greasable shackles come with the bolts right? I haven't looked yet (been everywhere but home lately).
