No I just cut the wire and extended both ends to a switch on the dash. Bare on mind that this is a 2009 TRD SPORT WITH VSC AND NO ATRAC. Not sure what year your truck is..let me know. I don't like grounding wires for obvious reasons!!! A cut wire is easier to fix than burning or damaging electronics and popping fuses.

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
Thanks for your reply Milowilli!!! I have been asking around in other threads, and even started my own trying to get good feedback.

I think the ground is what the issue was. I have a 2011 Sport w/ VSC, but the wiring should be the same, as is pretty much everything else on the '9-'11 models.

    *UPDATE*

So I successfully did the ABS kill mod, and the Yellow-Wire mod.

Thanks to Milowilli for pointing me in the right direction. Cut the Light Green wire, and connect it to a SPST On-Off switch. No grounding necessary EASY!!!

I took some pics, and will incorporate a more detailed description in the thread I started while I was researching how to do both mods (ABS Kill / YWM).

I just tried this mod. 2011 Off Road.......no luck.......I flip the switch and nothing happens. I assume I have a bad switch or connection. Not sure. No time to test as I am leaving for a trip to camp. Oh well.....have to mess with it later...shitty thing is I will hit snow.

I soldered the wires to the switch and used the same Tap and crimp connectors the OP did. Maybe my switch is bad??

    You're welcome.

Benson, I've modified the OP in my thread to link to your writeup for NON-Off Road model trucks, to better help people and cut down on confusion.

    Thanks for helping.

Well I just got finished doing this mod and the ABS, locker, and check engine light came on. My question being does anybody know why the check engine light came on? I will plug in a scanner tomorrow to see what code comes up but i was just curious if anybody else has had this same problem. Oh and I also did the anytime foglight mod today if that helps at all.

this is a great mod and loos pretty simple if you can just get to the area! Just so there is no confusion.
Rear Diff does not engage but does this mean that I cannot engage it if I want?
and can I still turn trac off or is it already off?
All I can think about is the times that I have just wanted to do some donuts and cant ever be spur of moment because I have to stop and turn all the crap off then when wanting to stop in mid donut the damn abs makes me almost run into crap!!!
And does it work on 13
