Anyone removed their doors on here? It's warming up and I feel like taking my doors off for kicks and giggles. My only hang up is the wiring from the door. Short of cutting and wiring a quick disconnect to the twenty something wires, anyone found a solution? Don't tell me, yeah leave the doors on, it's my truck and I want to try something I haven't see with other tacos.

it should just unplug from the dash at a quick connect, the door wiring harness should be a separate unit from the cab wiring harness.

pull the kick panels off and the main door harness plug should be right there.

if there isn't one then you can cut the wires there and put connectors to make it an easy on off door option

Just keep in mind the switch at the bottom that triggers the dome light. make sure to turn off dome or any other accessory triggered by this so you don't drain the battery.

I know the power mirrors, power window switch and speakers all have harness plugs that you can just pull and zip tie to the dash or wherever to keep them out of the way.

could always get something like this :)

Get a 12mm swiveling ratcheting box wrench, these will get the doors off the hinge bolts. The door wire plug is located inside the kick panel, you can pull it out if you dislodge that black rubbery thing that goes from the door to the truck and you just pull the connector apart. Next you need to disconnect that arm that limits how far the door can open. In order to get the lights to turn off you disconnect the switch from the truck. Make sure you roll the windows down before taking the doors off as it will make life easier putting them back on. The doors are heavy so you will need another person to help you put them back on. If you plan on making this a regular occurrence, cut the top hinge bolt into a notch, that way you can hang the door off the upper bolt when you put them back on. Its really easy once you find the door electronics plug.

I took them off to go wheeling once, it was neat. i probibly would not drive around on the street like that because it looks weird on a truck and i like my AC!
