I've been searching all over the place and I find references to removing the factory sub, but no help on how to actually get it off.

I've got an '09 Access Cab, with the goofy looking (sorry if you like it - it's not personal) sub mounted between the two rear seat backs, below the back window. I want to either get the cover off it, or get it out so I can get the cover off of it.

I found that there's a cap that pops off the very bottom that covers 2 10mm mounting screws, but I cannot figure out how the unit comes off the back bulkhead! Major frustration! I've pulled every which way, and tried to slide it up or to the sides, with no luck. I've really yanked on it too, and I'm to the point of near-breakage. I don't want to pull it any harder.

Can anyone tell me how that cover comes off?

My aim is to paint the thing some color that will blend it in a bit more. Anything to make it look less obtrusive until I can figure out what to do with it.

    Thanks.

    Roger

Thanks a ton! I'm having the same issue getting it off as one of the guys in the second thread. The plastic cover is REALLY hard to get off. So.... I guess I'll just pull harder! I thought I was missing something.

    Thanks again.
