Add a sub or amp up my highs?

Decided to get upgrade to an aftermarket HU (Alpine IVE-530) and now I face a dilemma. Obviously the factory speakers are pure crap. I ordered two different sets of speakers; one set of JL C2-650x's and another Polk DSi650's. Now here's the rub. I know can amp both sets of speakers; but the JL's like a bit more power RMS. I got to thinking installing the Polks as I could add a sub as well. My issue is, I really only want one amplifier; and it seems like fitting a subwoofer into my double cab is more difficult than it should be. I'm not a bass head any more (back in the day, I pushed 2 15" L7's in a ported box...those were the days). I just want want my music to sound full which I'm fairly sure I can get done by amping my high's.

Anyway; thoughts? I already own two amps, one 4 channel and another mono; so which route is going to be determined by ease of adding a subwoofer I guess. If I go that way, is getting something built by Mr. Marv or the like the best route? Box stores don't seem to have any boxes that would fit...at least as far as I can tell.

I was the same way, it is a slippery slope that can lead to way too many components. So I bought a JBL GTO-3EZ amp, it is a three channel amp. I think its five channel counterpart the GTO-5EZ may be perfect for you. They can be found cheap in open box conditionon eBay, that's how I got mine.

run the 4channel amp, ch1&2 to the JL speakers, bridge channel 3&4 and run a small sub, run the polks off deck power or not at all. my 2 pennies

Anyone know color of acc wire on a 2012 w/2014 oem HU need to T-tap in to it
