I'll try the shims. My problem lining it up with a string is the carrier bearing is wider than the shaft (obviously) and it pushes the string out. But I'm gonna try the shims.

What I do with the string line is get the shaft oriented with the zirk fittings pointed down and tie it around the differential flange and pull it over the lower zirk fitting. You can pull it taught and hold it close to the upper fittings and eye ball it pretty well using the three zirk fittings as a reference. Then shove it off to the side with the most travel left in the slots in the center bearing. Good luck experimenting!

The drive shaft is straight as an arrow side to side and I've shimmed the CB about 3/4" to 7/8" and there is no change still have the vibes. I'm 99% sure this is a driveline issue, terribly frustrating. Could this possibly be a leaf spring issue?

Had my driveshaft re-balanced, with all new heavy duty spicer u-joints and (unfortunately) a Dorman carrier bearing.

The bearing squeaks so loud it's embarrassing and I think it may be the source of a shudder at take-off.

I just bought the spicer bearing and will have it installed on Friday. We'll see how things go after that.

Thanks to this thread I bought the Spicer center bearing, in October 2017, from Drivetrain America, to replace a worn on out stock one. I've had slight vibrations recently and took it into a shop. Diagnosis; "over an inch of deflection in the center support bearing is causing driveline vibrations."

Contacting them about a warranty, if that doesn't come through, I'm pumping the rubber in the center bearing full of caulk.

No silicone caulk, it will dry out the bushing. Instead use black urethane. It's for roofing, but you find it with the rest of the caulk at the hardware store.

You're welcome, it works much better than silicone. Stiffens the bushing up without creating extra vibration. Only draw back is you have to let it cure for a few days, so it's ideal to do it to one you plan on replacing an existing center support bearing with.

I've been trying to figure out my 30mph vib, while I was replacing driver's side CV I replaced the needle bearing with the ECGS bushing, still have exact vib crossing over 30mph post bushing install. Carrier bearing looks pretty shot with a good bit of play and some dry rotting in the rubber. Plan on switching this out ASAP and I've seen that the spicer part#5002007 is the correct one for my 4wd 2008 dcsb, problem is I am only finding the spicer part#5002334 (2wd) in stock online. Has anyone had issues installing the 2wd on their 4wd? I'd prefer to wait to find one of the proper ones, but was just curious as this vib is irritating.

Figured I'd go ahead and change the u-joints while I am at it. Anyone have preference on one? Should I just keep it Spicer? Autoplicity has this one and says it will fit.

I replaced my U-joints with the 5-213X, which had zerk in center, which I prefer after my misadventure with Moog ujoints.

I've found the 5002007 at these places:

Yeah, that happens but you'll probably get the right part; maybe someone can inform of the mismatched picture.

    Any updates?

I'm curious if the Spicer 5002007 has resolved most of the issues.

last month, i used Spicer 5002007 from Drivetrain American for ~$73 and it fit just fine on my 2010 4x4. the original one i replace was worn and no longer centered (~147k miles roughly).

I also replaced the 3 u-joints on the main drive shaft at the same time.

I didn't have any vibes besides a small shake around 10-15 MPH but it took me really paying attention to notice. After the new carrier barrier and u-joints, it seemed to have improved slightly but again, it was almost neglible to begin with.

Here’s a photo of the two spicer support bearings. The 5002007 has a dust shield to protect the bearing.
Lots of guys are installing the 5002334 on the 4x4 drive shaft with success, but are giving up that protection.
I found the 4x4 model on eBay, Jegs kept pushing my order back week after week and I canceled.

I thought I'd add something to this relating to the part numbers and I could also use some help.
I have a 06 Tundra DC SR5 4X4, 4.7. I need a center bearing and was looking at the Spicer parts which got me here to this forum.
I see in the pictures 5002007 has Toyota part number 372235-35030 on it. It was mentioned that maybe it was a Toyota overseas number.
I looked at the original bearing on my truck and it also has 372235-35030 on it.
According to Drivetrain America using my VIN I should use 5002334 but based on the pictures and what's on the truck now I am wondering if I should use 5002007.
    Thanks for any advice.

If it was me, i'd replace with the same part. Seems like the drive train is pretty sensitive to vibes.

On the flip side, this thread indicates the two are the same except for an extra seal (?) so maybe the 4x4 (5002007) is an upgrade for you.

The way i look at it, if it lasted that long, just use the same part and replace again down the road around the same mileage interval, instead of risking something that may cause vibes or other problems.

Mine lasted to 147k and i think it could have gone another year or ~15-20k miles.
