Nah man, they haven't shipped yet. They are taking their sweet ass time I reckon. I'm in no rush really, lots of work I can do, but damn I can't wait to try them triple sticks out!

Got my front my axle halfway torn down, now I have to go help the sister for a little bit.

Here is the play by play:

Remove the 10mm bolts holding the hub dial, and remove the hub dial
    [IMG]
Remove the axle snap ring with your snap ring pliers
    [IMG]
Remove the 12mm nuts holding the hub body, hit the slit in the cone washers with a tapered punch, it might take a little help with the rubber persuasion tool
    [IMG]
Remove the brake line retaining clips from the backing plate. If you were smart like me the last time you did this, you notched the brake line bracket so you do not have to disconnect the brake lines.
Remove the 17mm bolts holding the brake caliper in place, remove the brake caliper, and tie it up out of the way.
Note the star washer, bend the tabs off of the spindle retaining and lock nuts
    [IMG]
Grab your 54mm spindle nut socket and remove the spindle lock nut, slide the star ring off, and then remove the retaining nut. If you use a screwdriver and hammer to remove these nuts, fuck you, do it right.
Now we are ready to slide the brake rotor off...
... and remove the 14mm nuts holding the backing plate on, and remove the backing plate.

Slide the spindle off, and catch the grease that comes out of the knuckle.

Now I can start getting the knuckles off.

The dual cases are shipping next week! :woot:

My passenger side steering arm is a BITCH to remove! I need to start using anti-seize on the cone washers.

^drift punch + mini sledge + 30 min. of beating and finally this...

    Longfield superaxle vs. stock birfield

Tomorrow I am going to get the rear 3rd out and swap it with the Spartan locked 3rd in the front, and see if I need to clearance the knuckle balls for the Long's. I need to get the new pins pressed into the steering arms and then I can get all the new goodies thrown on the front axle.

Eh, mostly looks like dirt to me. What little corrosion there is is all surface stuff and nothing to worry about.

Edit: Is that a shock boot over the breather valve? Lulz.

Yea thats URE mud on the knuckle, and surface rust on the steering arm. Not sure which Linwood is referring to, but I am going to throroughly clean the knuckles and paint 'em.

And that boot is a Trail Gear diff breather. They are worthless and I didn't do research on 'em before I bought them. I am going to replace the boots with fuel line, similar to the 2nd gen breather mod. I basically paid $40 for 2 fittings... DOH!

Already got inners and outers
